I managed to wrangle my site back from oneandone.co.uk but something very wierd is happening.
I have changed the DNS to point to my original servers and changed the IPS away from oneandone but I am still seeing a oneandone.co.uk holding page, my site is still not there.
Now what's strange to me is my stats are showing people are visiting my site and that my site is in fact there however all I'm able to see is this holding page.
Could some of you guys goto and tell me whether you see a holding page or my actual site.
I'm on a BT ADSL line so I can only assume I am seeing a page from their cache even though it's been over 48 hours since I changed the DNS.
If there's any techies about are you able to shed any light on what's happening?
Thanks,
John

That's what I'm seeing but others are seeing my real site. Can you tell me what ISP you are using?

I am seeing the full site - I am on AOL. I have problems like that with my own site sometimes, even though it has been updated I don't see it for anything up to two days!!

Re: OT: Strange goings on at Centrefolds.co.uk
F.serve and Tesco.net, I have never visited your site before, so there is no cache information, it,s a blank page.
Re: OT: Strange goings on at Centrefolds.co.uk
I meant the cache of the ISP. My understanding is that your ISP has a cache, when you surf websites you see whatever is in your ISPs cache not necessarily the up-to-the minute site.
Anyway I'm confused, some people see my site, some don't, I don't. I used a proxy and managed to see my site so I guess it's down to BT's cache??

John, DNS records don't change instantly. It can take up to 48 hours for the changes to take effect round the web...
It doesn't happen at the same time for everyone either.

Frday morning 10.25 am..
Your site is up and running
a) Clear your own history and cache. If you're using IE at the top of the screen.
1) Tools
2)Internet options
3) Both Temp Files and History are there to be cleared.
4) Some times it's easier to go into windows explorer -> Windows -> Temp and Temp Internet folders and clear them as well.
b) It can take up to 3 days for the change of dns to point to the new IP
