Actually I'm way ahead of you. I've already been in touch with a load of models/actresses/producers to see what their availabilty is for late Spring/Early Summer so we can get as many there as possible.

This is an idea that has been kicked around by many of us.
The consensus is that it should be a Black Tie event at a suitable venue, like the Grosvenor House.
However, The cost of hosting would be considerable unless a sponsor could be found and the lack of "respectability" precludes most impressive host establishments.
But it IS on the agenda of "things to do" and all serious suggestions are of course extremely welcome.

This is indeed what is both holding porn back, and, in my honest opinion, what is "keeping porn real".

I have to admit that in the past I have been "embarassed" by porn... I've conformed to society annd rather than take a full on liking to it, I've held back... I've chosen to turn away rather than look it full in the face. There are probably two reasons responsible;

1 - The feminists - If you like porn, you hate women, women are vixtims of porn; and b)

2 - the Moral issues - that sex isn't about fun, sex is about procreation, making babies, to be cnfined to loving relationships...

Now, well, I'm more than prepared to stand up and say "I think porn is great" - I reallydon't see the moral issue... what is wrong with using your body for enjoyment? What is wrong with a liberated lifestyle? What is wrong with having mutually satisfying, good hard physical fun with others? - I cannot think of any moral reason to counter this - the moral argument is born purely out of tradition...

Now the feminist issue - thats alive and well... its in the workplaces - hell, where I work we can't even leave a copy of FHM on display... I work in a male dominated occupation (and believe me, it aint the job I joined) and the feminist extremist opinion rules... thats my opinion atleast...

I'm afraid that those who shout loudest get their way in this world - and I'm afraid that those who support porn, in general, do not speak out because they are suppressed by not wanting to appear as immoral or anti-women... So in general, they choose to sit on the fence...

I'm afraid that the only way we're gonna change attitudes is by shouting out ourselves... y'know - I'd dearly love to throw myself into porn - AT ANY LEVEL - producing, shooting, performing (even though I reckon I lack the necessary tackle)... I'm prepared to do it and be damned... I'm prepared to defend myself - to meet fire with fire... I've been prepared to do so for a while now - 12 months or more, but it is only in the last few weeks/months that I have took a really long hard look at myself and the subject and said "YES" - do it....

The European Human Rights Act affords us freedom of expression - we should use it... Nobody is being forced into doing porn, nobidy is forced into watching porn... it is high time commercial sex came out of hiding, high time we ALL started firing back at the moralists and the feminists.

So I say this.... if we're gonna have UK Porn Awards - we should just do it.... nobody is going to make it easy for us... and if we have to hold it in a local village boozer due to the lack of a financial backer - SO BE IT! I'm sure "the Adult Channel" or its like would cover it - maybe even sponsor the awards...

"Out of small acorns" and all that! Lets just do it and be damned... the local boozer this year, the Grosvenor in 5 years!
