Re: Age Verification/ GDPR
someone from the nspcc has just been rambling on about children being able to access in her exact words "online commercial pornography". No, love, the commercial stuff is behind pay sites if children are accessing anything it's the online ripped off pornography and you are supporting a government who has chosen to work with the chief perpetrators.

Re: Age Verification/ GDPR
I totally agree.
What strange times we live in.
Either the government admit to not knowing that or have just given it to the highest stake holder
I wonder how David Cameron would explain this from the time he set the wheels in motion.
I cant help but think this all comes back down to money and power (in terms of control and regulating the internet using porn as a convenient excuse)
I could also be far off the mark but its always worth keeping an open mind toward the end game because its seems like we've actually forgotten about the kids where Google is concerned let alone twitter.

Re: Age Verification/ GDPR
But like you sort of say Google and twitter are too big for them to take on whereas some site with a couple of thousand paying members is a piece of cake. If you see the O/T forum and the link to the pornocracy documentary it's even suggested in that that there is a certain resemblance to the mafias way or working.
Re: Age Verification/ GDPR
look on the the bright side though OEJ. If the shit hits the fan ie if the last words of that pornacracy trailer were proven it will bring down the government.
Re: Age Verification/ GDPR
What I am confused by, is this is being driven if I am not mistaken by MIND GEEK, who own and run most of the big tube sites, supplying free porn to everyone, including kids...
Will this new system also include their own adult commercial properties ? Or will this infact benefit them by funnelling more traffic to them...

Re: Age Verification/ GDPR
no it's not being driven by them they have simply been handed the keys to the car by the british government who want to adopt mindgeek as their preferred age verifier. so all small companies including probably forums like this will have to pay mindgeek to verify the age of any user. All a bit laughable really when you consider the amounts of porn accessible through the likes of soulseek which requires no more than some software installation and a username and a password. No need even for an email address and the content is completely unregulated.
