The guy as done well Terry...the idea of working with ATVOD & OFFCOM seems a sensible approach if they are willing to do this.

Credit card.debit card entry into any adult site proves age etc & do away with free sites as we are all in agreement with that, challenging & bullying the legal sites seems crazy & pointless.

I remember meeting Pete Johnson at an AITA meeting in 2011 telling us that ATVOD had been established and fully operational 2 years before that. He laid down the law and told us we were breaking the law if you didnt sign up and when you signed up then you were also two years in arrears for the years you didnt pay, assuming your site was up since 2009 and earlier

Back then it was ?2900 per site so you know that was met with resistance. 4k for what?

I reckon everyone signing up to ATVOD will be a captive audience in years to come. When they got enough sites sign up and control the internet they'll squeeze you further and probably get that 3k a site when you have no option available to you

Otherwise I agree with you, if it was a level playing field and they didn't allow the free sites to get away with it then it would sound like a good thing. As it is now they've burnt that bridge of trust

I beg to differ on some points. By working with the censors you are starting to work for them. What you will find is they start to subtly comment on what they consider acceptable and before long R18 will be censored to bits.

ATVOD aren't allowed to make a profit under the 2003 Communications Act. They can only cover their costs (and contribute to Pete's pension!) In fact their fees have gone down again this year.
