Custom content store. Would it work?

Hi guys.

I'm just curious as to whether any of you (Models or photographers) would be interested in creating your own custom content store.

Think of it as like Adultwork, only without the fee's and with a much simpler payment system. So basically a simpler, free, alternative to Adultwork

What do you guys think?

Dont people do this already with Clips4Sale?

The only problem I see with that idea is that people will try harder to get noticed whereas more traffic are liable to find them on C4S and AW

I guess the answer is no on an individual level then. Some will do a lot better than others depending on popularity and looks

Clips4Sale have an even worse payout percentage ratio than Adultwork though (60/40 for clips & images).

I'd be offering this entirely free of charge so the only percentage being taken would be whatever the payment provider charges.

General walk in traffic would probably get diverted to Adultwork but, with the incentive of a near 100% payment, I'd be counting on the individual referral traffic being the primary source.

The problem is matching the traffic that C4S & adultwork get. That would be very hard to replicate. If you aren't getting much traffic to the site then getting 100% of a sale is not going to be any better than the percentage you get from the other two sites if you are only making a couple of sales at your site compared to 10+ per clip at the others.

No harm in giving it a go though as long as you don't insist people can't post the clips elsewhere and they have to be exclusive on your site. You never know until you try.

Nobody does anything for free, you must have to earn money to host the content, and of course to be busy, busy, busy doing the SEO work. That takes lots of time, especially in the beginning of a new website, and unless you have just won Euro Squillions, then free it would not be.

Your biz plan is doomed from the start I'm afraid as although clips4sale & AW are pretty dire sites, they get lots of traffic (I do believe that c4s gets the most) and you would be hard pressed to equal that.

How if you just wanted to give away ?20 notes, we all would be interested.

The service itself would be free for users, but obviously I'd have to make some money somewhere and I've got 4 or 5 revenue streams that I could exploit.

This isn't my first rodeo, I've done similar projects before (Free service, revenue comes from elsewhere) but this would be my first big adult project, hence why I'm asking you veterans what you think.

The plan isn't to compete with existing sites, I don't for one second think I could garner as much traffic as them and to be honest I don't want to.

I'm aiming this at a different audience than just the bog standard masturbator

We would give it a go if you started a project like this & so would lots of others but i does seem a tall order to take on Adult Work...C4S ain't all that but AW is second to none at the moment.
