Adult Works Advice ?

So I have a bunch of stuff I am going to put on AdultWorks (and probably places like Clips4Sale)

Can you make any decent money from this ? Any tips on the best things to do... like are there any particular times of day that are best, or any days that are best ?

Ok have set my account up... can anyone tell me how you add a RENTAL... it says to upload it on to a FTP... but what ever I do I cant get it to work

I've been running a couple of pages on AW for a few months, puretotty. There are good times to put up clips (which make more money than rentals) but if I told you I'd have to kill you. As for best days, I haven't been able to make a call on that yet.

It pays to advertise on the main page (again, clips rather than rentals).

When I first tried uploading rental movies I kept getting time-outs. I upgraded to BT Infinity from my standard broadband deal and then everything worked fine.

And to answer your first question, yes you can make decent money from it if you regularly update your page. The more you put up the more revenue you make.

Yeah no matter what I try I cant get rentals to upload... but as you say there seems better money in clips... so not sure if I should even bother lol...

The only thing I noticed is the "RENTALS" seen to stay on the front page longer than the clips... if that makes sense

I find rentals even if they last longer on the main page, it keeps your profile live on the front page, so usually that leads to more clip sales than rentals, but the rental is doing its job getting you noticed if that makes sense?

I do ok out of rentals, but its the luck of the draw if you last on the front page with a rental as it depends how many rentals get accepted that day

So Paul... the question remains how I do I get a rental uploaded ? I haver tried adding a FTP, using the 92.48.193.42 with anonymous and my email address... but that never works

I tried using the bit that allows you to do it through the site... and that just keeps stopping after a minute or two...

Really dont know how to get it up on there...

The trick is to use a cheapo FTP client like CoreFTP. "Good" FTP programs send requests to the server as part of their function, but AW have restricted what can be read from their server and this confuses them.

I use the FTP program upload you described and it works for me, it connects every time for me, but I do remember trying and trying and eventually is worked.

I remember I didn't have the anonymous ticked as in cyber duck which I use on the Mac it has to be manually ticked and it was hidden away.

The next thing is rendering your clips to AW's guide that was even a piss on for me but again saved the settings a preset and now I am away with that, but its not a good site to use interms of user ability.

I have even heard in recent weeks that you have to have a fast internet connection to be able to upload.

I am still waiting of BT infinity reaching me and I am lucky if I get a 3mb line and it works for me, so that can't be it, as I know people with a lot faster connections than me, have trouble but still not as fast as BT Infinity.

You can make good money on top of your official sites.

I do but you really start making the money when you have a lot of clips on there, it wasn't till I had 100 clips on there that I started with it being worth my while, now I have over 30.

Hmmmm I use "FileZilla" to upload stuff via FTP... it's never not worked before, mind you it's the first time I used a ip as the host...

So Paul... you use the 92.48.193.42 as the host ? And anonymos as the username ? And your email as the password ?

This to me is a really weird set up... I never seen a set up like this before and it's driving me mad

It keeps returning the message "Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing"
