I fear it's the money/effort at the other end that's coming up short- the few UK distributors there are seem not to want to push their wares beyond these shores, where there is a small-ish and finite market, as Dibble has recently pointed out. Volume is everything for these guys.

I think the pool of talent in the british porn scene has been pretty decent, with the like of Layla, Jessie J, Flick, Sandie, Claire Kiernan, Bev Cocks, Ashley Long, Angel Long, Rebekah Jordan, Bonnie Heart etc. all making a pretty good job of it in the states, but as for the advent of R18 I feel a lot of the producers have felt fit to through their cast-offs, compliations and reworkings of things we have seen before, surely this should have been the green light for the british porn scene to move forward, but in my opinion it has not really done so, on the bright side we still have Ben Dover, One Eyed Jack, Cathy Barry, Omar, UK Student House, Relish all pretty decent product and hopefully Marinos Road Trips (although his tapes may be past their sell by date by the time they reach the punters). I for one hope that Anna Span is going to give a fresh take on the british porn scene that might please some doubters... fingers crossed.

Because our 'industry' amounts to half a dozen producers and no active P R friendly type stars i.e. beautiful and glamorous that can seriously be compared with the likes of Jenna Jameson or Sylvia Saint. If they don't approve of something or fear it will harm their career prospects it won't get a mention much less and serious promotion or publicity.
