Lowerloft is right. If you really feel strong about things like this affecting your business then you should be part of something bigger to help fight it.
It is my understanding that ATVOD got through largely unopposed despite the fact its launch was spear headed since the BBFC Online thing a few years ago.
This is an off shoot from that.
Pete Johnson and various speakers take time to come out now because they know there is a voice speaking for the adult industry via AITA

For some reason, this picture came to mind, when I was imagining the good folk of porn having, "Meetings" with ATVOD, to discuss our future. !wink!

Re: OFCOM regulations - say goodbye to yout business!
We had a representative from ATVOD who enforce OFCOM's rules at our AITA meeting earlier in the month.
We will have another meeting which will most likely cover more of this subject on Wednesday 7th September.
More details will be posted nearer the time. The meeting is an Open Meeting and anyone from the Adult Indstry is welcome to come along.
Anyone concerned should also join our facebook group:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=1 ... 486&ref=ts
A pod cast from our meeting is here:

We need more members to help to try to fight this so anyone want to help us and join AITA please email me admin@aita.co.uk
Thanks,
Michelle

I have read the regulations and listened to an audio clip by the head of the regulating body and if you offer downloadable or streaming videos that are NOT live then you qualify.

AND Not only that...
If your member area is acessible by anything other than a credit-card then it will be seen as providing the material to those potentially under 18 because phone-billing, bank-billing, online cheques and debit cards can all be gotten by minors.
I suppose this is true but I have been speaking to a very well known friend of mine (well known here anyway)... and he didn't even know what billing options he had on his site - I checked whilst speaking to him and he falls-foul on all counts!.. So where is your revenue-stream when it's a fact that a small percentage of most people's sales is credit card and nearly all by other the means?

Agreed but I bet my left bollock that they are reading THIS and know YOU now.
Not wanting to worry you but if YOU were them and someone was telling everyone YOU were a toothless tiger what would you do?
You'd make an example of them wouldn't you?
Unfortunately it's what they do... they know no better.

Well said Jack - they already told one very large company to pretty much 'fuck off' when it raised a quite reasonable question on eligibility for this load of crap!
The company in question had a good point but it was obvious that the regulatory body is making the rules as it goes.
They have guidelines that are subject to change so that if you find a loophole... all they have to do is say thankyou... and change the guidelines.... and then fuck you over!

Hang on a fucking minute!
Look!!!!
I don't mind paying to join something industrywise in general but think for a moment PLEASE!
You are basically asking for my signature on a petition but demanding fifty quid for the pleasure!
We ALL need to band together on this and if you insist on demanding fifty quid to help the fight then you may end up marching down Whitehall with only a handful of people!
It's like asking the sick at Isandlwana (read yer history) to join in the fight but demanding cash as well!!!
If we don't fight together then we definitely will be fucked on this one and after we've all lost our businesses all you'll have is some measly subscriptions.
Let us all in for free on a limited basis till this fight is over... Or is that too fucking obvious!
Sorry for sounding angry but you must see how daft the proposition is and if this is the only way to fight then you are risking ALL our future's!
