Can you recommend a good adult webhost???

I had a dedicated server with Hostgator for a few years and they were fine, but I just outgrew them - they couldn't do me an unmetered, European server.

The 'main' server I use is a beast, 2.5ghz Dual Quad Core (8x Cores) Intel Xeon, 8gb Ram, 1.4tb Raid 5 hard drive array, hosted in Blue Square in maidenhead, with unmetered bandwidth, I am reliably told this is pretty much 5-10tb a month bandwidth thats about ?600 a month inc support. We are currently considering Rackspace as well but their bandwidth gets crazy after 1tb and they kinda looked funny at us when we asked about more heh.

We are just looking into setting up a CDN for the states, rather than multiple servers, we think this is the way forward now.

We also have accounts with Dreamhost (who we have almost 20gb online with and use about 200gb a month and have no problems with), also have a few other accounts too here and there. We need different IP ranges for SEO stuff, so we have many accounts

Again thanks for the advice people, I realise its asking people anything, people will always disagree and agree on different things. I have looked around myself anyway, many hosts that have been mentioned ( the wonders of google). I am sure you can see why I wanted to ask other webmasters/producers first.

There is a variety of reasons but the main ones are

How long does it take you to upload an hours worth of video in the different formats (hd/sd/wmv/avi/etc) along with all the photos for each site ?

Minutes ? An Hour ? 5 Hours ? 10 Hours ? A Day ? 3 Days even ?

Takes me half hour absolute tops, then I connect server to server and move from UK server to where I need it

Also try downloading a 200gb backup on your home broadband and see how quickly your ISP puts your bollocks in a vice.

Moving a few gig up to the server or taking 200gb off the server is multiple orders of magnitude easier with the server in the UK where I can get grubby little mits on the server.

With a US based CDN, We'll have all the benefits of the UK server with sonic speed downloads all over the US, at the moment the CDN is all pie in the sky, but its on the books

you are right in everything you say. Theplanet.com became a big bullshit.
The best was before they took over ev1servers.net.
This was the best ever existing host at his time, support amazing, prices unbelievable, but then 2-3 years the owner sold to theplanet.com.

I have never been so disappointed in my whole life since then, the technical staff has no clue what they are doing, unfriendly, unreliable.

There is one host which is not bad at all, very friendly and reliable, and reasonable.

I have a reliable host account that came with a site I bought, I'm a little disappointed by the download speeds in the UK tho.

Also the bandwidth available isnt great tho.

Alot of the LA Elite use them too so they must be worth it
