Thank you for your post,

I definitely agree with what you are saying. I am currently in the process of seeing what other opportunities are available to me before i ruin my chances with the current company, and am left with no work at all!

Thanks again,

Just to let you all know,

I am not including the name of the company as I'd prefer not to shoot myself in the foot way before i decide to go with someone else or in fact stick with these guys.

What a load of tosh|! Are they offering you a retainer to stop you working from anyone else? Of course not, they are doing in legal terms what is often described as, "Taking the piss!"

I take it they are saying that if you work for anyone else you then cease to be, "Amateur" and have becomes as if by magic, "professional". So in other words any model's career must start and end with these people...........what bollocks, do what you like and work with whom you want!

Hahaha!! Thanks for the response, you make a lot of sense and since posting i've had a fair amount of offers for work so I'm just going to do what I like.
My worry was i wouldn't get anymore work but i think i'm just going to have to go for it!!

Thanks again!

It looks like this 'amateur film company' are amateurs in other respects(eg contractual) as well.Severeal things you can do:

aa.Anounce that you have turned professional and employed a lawyer to check any 'contracts' prior to signature. If necessary demand a blank copy of their 'model release form' and have it checked. However,it may be a case of payment against documents, for your shoot with them.I'm a bit in the dark here.

bb.If you have signed any model release with this 'amateur' company, check it in detail-even if signed.I would doubt that there would be any exclusive terms in it,save perhaps for the images/film that they may have taken at your shoot with them.I assume you got paid?

cc.Depending on how things go,consider getting advise from other models,on paperwork.

There's plenty of work out there for you but the best way to make a living is to run your own website. It makes you money whilst you are asleep, doing other jobs, on holiday or just sitting on your arse watching Eastenders (like every other model in the UK - they all watch it, trust me... oh yes, and Corrie too.)
Basically get yourself a 'togger and build the site asafp.
Trust me on this.

(Not my site but I do the shooting and she'd love you to take a peek!)

Good idea BUT....

A lot of these schemes fall apart because either the tog isn't good at promoting OR the model doesn't put enough time into shooting for the site, (often expects fast money, it isn't).

You need to know that someone is going to promote/market it, and you need to keep it updated on a regular basis.

If in partnership with the tog/promoter you'll probably end up with a 50:50 deal or such, which is fine IF they hit targets, and these should be agreed in advance, so that you can sack them. E.g "If income after 12 months is less than Xpm, all rights in everything - site, domains, material reverts to Model, who must be given all materials, passwords etc".

Any tog/promoter unwilling to agree to such terms should be avoided - those who know what they doing will just want to discus what X will be, and will want to impose conditions of their own, such as "model must shoot 2 full days a month, to include GG and BG scenes" to ensure that you are committed to the site re creating content, and thus will give them the chance to generate the money. They will also lay down "minimum requirements" re content that they need in order to launch the site.

One option is to work on your own content from now - partner videos you solo, mate films you and your partner, you do content share with other models. This will give you a library of "unseen early" material that will really turn your fans on when you later get a site.

Have fun.

I still love performing and shooting, and always happy to help people make porn. Esp if tittivation.com will be an outlet :-)
