It will be interesting to see if there is going to be a decline in people attending this years event due to the credit crunch

I am not quite sure went it is taking place as there has been no correspondence about it so far on this forum, apart from Lady Josephine looking for some work there.

Will any other models who post on this site be attending?.

Also is this the same time that the acting awards take place.

I *think* this maybe the first time in 6-7 yrs that, we may not be attending.

I'm well pissed off between then cunts that operate the underground and the twats at brit rail and the robbers in the taxi's its always a bastard, but thats not the reason we maybe missing it, maybe working overseas.

I used to go, but found it all so boring in the end, it's a good place to hook up with friends & models but it's totally aimed at the punter so little of interest for any producers.

I found it got worse each year and finally stopped bothering last year.

There was an Adults Only Show in Birmingham earlier this year which was far better than Erotica and girls could get their tits out without being thrown out !grin!
Hoping that continues...

The Passions Show held earlier in the year is smaller and far better. We tend to go as we use it as an excuse to have a night out in London afterwards but generally the once-great Erotica is just full of single guy punters ogling the girls. Useless for networking.

Like you Simon, I enjoyed the Adults Only Show too - in fact it was a whole year ago, October 2007 in Birmingham. Let's hope there's another one next year.

Now, speaking as a punter, I'm fascinated by your sentence:

I've heard this sentiment before in relation to Erotica in particular, and it suggests that producers exist in their own universe and don't interact with punters at all, which I know isn't the case. Would anyone care to expand on this view?

Are producers never punters too? Do you ever buy anything?

As a producer, are you interested in what the marketplace has to offer, or is that entirely irrelevant to you? What else is on offer to punters, how your products compare, etc? Or are you simply saying that Erotica is just the wrong place to get an idea of the current market?

I've no involvement with Erotica, but just out of interest, what would it have to do to be 'aimed at producers' as well? What else are you looking for?

I'm half-expecting some replies to this post which continue to 'bash' Erotica, and that may be fair enough, but equally I'd be really interested to hear if anyone has any constructive thoughts.

Fair points there Coolcat, I probably came accross a bit snooty so apologies if that's the case.

It's hard to describe but being a producer and keeping your finger on the pulse in the industry then you rarely see anything new or of interest at exhibitions like Erotica, yes I am still a punter there and usually spend a shitload of cash on stuff, but the last Erotica I went to was pretty boring with the same old stuff from previous years and I bought a handful of bits, it all seemed very samey or 'Moulin Rouge' for want of a better description with almost a gothic theme to stuff on sale, well that's how it appeared to me anyway......

I always found the organisers of Erotica were almost trying to dumb down the sex element of the show and kicking people out for baring too much or taking photos, what ever their reasons it took any fun out of it.

Adults Only Show how ever was quite refreshing, it was a bit on the small side as it was their first show but the atmosphere and stage shows were far more sexy and plenty of eye candy, the stalls seemed better there too, I ended up going for the 2 days and spending plenty each day, I very much enjoyed the whole thing. (and with plenty of tits bared into the bonus)

Hope that made sense and if Erotica was more erotic I would deffo go again, as it is and my previous experiences there then I'll give it a miss.
