feature idea

Post by Rachel Spencer »

I'm a freelance journalist supplying features to nationai newspapers and magazines like the People, News of the World, More, Closer, and at the moment I am trying to find a girl who works in the adult industry and has a boyfriend who doesn't work in the adult industry but is happy with his girlfriend's job.
The feature will basically be about what it is like to date a porn star. It will involve an interview with the guy and the girl about how it affects their relationship, etc, and they will need to be pictured.
They will also be paid a fee when the article is published, and I am hoping to place it in a newspaper and a woman's magazine.
If you think you could help, or would like to be in the article, please drop me a line.
The article will be written in a non-judgemental way and I am happy to let anyone who does agree to be interviewed have copy approval.
Many thanks,
Rachel Spencer

Oh god not this again! Yeah, yeah - more promises of telling the real story sympathetically then, hey presto, another piece of biased shite painting all porn people as freaks. !furious!

Whatever!
I've writted shedloads of stories about porn stars over the years and not one of them has ever called them freaks. have a look at my cuttings!
I wrote all the stories about Richard, Katie and Holly, the internet threesome couple that are one of the sponsors on this site, which was great publicity and made them tons of money and they were really pleased with how it was written to make them NOT sound like freaks.

Rachel, Grow a thick skin and prepare for a little battering. The industry takes alot of abuse from the mainstream media, they tell us 'yeah we are on your side' then the piece comes out, and its really 'their side'.

Adveritisng in the open like this, is also frowned upon as, your likely to appeal to the 'trish/jerry wannabe pornstar' who see's the opp to make a dollar and shows the industry up.

RealCouples maybe something to look at, as some of the guys on there have never done porn before, and do the video for their other half, and they are ALL genuine couples (at time of filming if not still), its a starting point anyway.

It is said that both love and truth walk hand in hand. But if the need is great enough, can we learn to love a lie?

Well put Cenobitez. Rachel, have a look at the posting from esmith, earlier today, and see what the usual replies to this sort of request are.

Best of luck

Hiya,
Thanks for the guidance and the link to the other site for other couples. It's much appreciated.
I do understand why people in the industry get annoyed with the media so sorry for getting on the defensive!
I've had a couple of people get in touch so thanks again.
