SEO, can anyone help?

Post by MK Printing »

Hello peeps

Next year I want to be very high in the Google ranking for search terms such as flyers, business cards, stationery, letterheads etc etc. Who here is able to help me get high on Google?

I have had people say they can get me high with such terms as "litho printed business cards with delivery and VAT" buts lets face it how many people enter that?

If you are able to help me then please drop me an email at info@mkprinting.co.uk, also take a look at my website www.mkprinting.co.uk to see what you think.

Thanks

Matt

On a different note, how much do you charge for business cards?

Beth.

If it's the Duke of Norfolk you're talking about, he lives just down the road from me in Arundel, but I don't think it's there either !sherlock!

Hi MK,

I took a quick look at your site. Fundamentally, you need to raise the PageRank of your site by spreading your URL around. Getting people
to link to you, joining social and business networks, submitting your site
to directories, all of these should help. Its a lot of leg work, but costs
time rather than money and can be an effective marketing activity
in itself regardless of any effect it has on google.

You might also want to consider your use of graphics. In pages, like your
home page, text is mostly embedded in gif files, with the result that there
is not much text for google to latch onto and make search terms of. Find
the option in your webbrowser that turns off all graphics and then look at
your webpages - this is pretty much how google sees them. Re-do your
mission statement as a CSS box and re-write the copy to contain as many
search relevant keywords as possible.

thanks for the tips there. We are going to be taking lots of the image links out and eplacing them with text links instead. We ask all of our customers to add our URL to their sites too.

If you type in MK Printing into google we are number 1, but isn't really much use. If people want to add a link to MK Printing from their site them we would be very greatful.

Any more tips please keep them coming, I am sure more people than just myself will benefit.

Seriously though...the problem is getting a high Google page rank which depends mostly on how many sites link to you AND how highly ranked those sites are. The PR scale of 0 to 10 is thought to be logarithmic rather than linear and so so getting from one rank to the next is ten times harder every time (assuming logs base 10).

The problem with getting links from high ranked sites is that they know their links are valuable and, according to a leaked algorithm I saw somewhere, every outgoing link from a site serves to lower that site's ranking.

Why not try Google Adwords - they don't work very well in porn, but they might work better in printing.
