Is there a living to be made ?

I was wondering if it was possible to make a living from online adult entertainment website management ?

I don't want to give away my ideas but there is an un-tapped market available and it's a first to market situation that will probably succeed.

I work full time and would have to front the money for someone to build the sites but then there is the content issue. Where do all the folks who run sites here get their content ? Is there a clearing house of sorts ? Or are there board members that sell content ?

Anyone can give an insight ? Thanks.

You can buy in content or do your own. For a good website, expect to pay around ?5,000 to ?15,000 per year for content.

My own website this year will be in the region of ?8,000 - ?10,000.

Of-course many affiliate schemes give content free.

You can always sponsor your own unique content.

I run a glamour studio and could certainly produce content for you.

I would say your estimates of shoots costs are very low, especially if you are doing hardcore. There was a good thread on another adult webmaster board about setup costs for a site that can compete as a business against established sites, and I think the cost would be in the region of ?100K. Good luck though, if you think you have a unique angle go for it!

The content would be limited....I'm looking at a max of a few hundred images and movie files combined. Soft and Hard. There's a fair bit of taking that content and 'manipulating' it. Creating unique content would cost too much, maybe in the phase 2.



I can't invest ?10K in content unfortunately so plan B is to get the Mrs Jubblies out

Well IMHO even if it was a first, I doubt people would pay for a few 100 images and some vidoe. However, good luck

I saw this post and it got me thinking about jimslip. Baseline investment to keep this site going with 1 new update a week for a year is ?16k minimum!!! I almost fell over when i calculated this.
Your problem won't neccessarily be what the conent is but
1.how will people know you're there....
2it'll honestly take you a good couple of years to make a profit so dont look for an overnight investment they just don't happen on the net anymore.
and
3. you'll need to be putting new updates on weekly as theres so much stuff these days that you need to give VFM so you'll have to buy in a years content ( or at least 9 months) in advance.
Dont know if i've been any help, but it was just a few thoughts i had.
