Jack,

Any thing which is voluntary or self regulating will always be flawed.

I know lots of models could use their diary as a log book and everyone should keep records of who've they have worked with (both on and off camera).

As Jim / Lara said, the adult industry is a risky industry and people involved should remember that when they embark upon a career in the industry (and it's ancillary businesses).

Hi Guys!

The risk of catching an std is something that all of us weigh up before we decide to go into this business, if you want to work in porn then as unfortunate as it is, it is a risk that you take, Just as If you're a fireman you may get burnt.... if you're a builder you may have a fall.... the list of risky jobs goes on and on but at the end of the day whether you do or don't make that decision is entirely up to the individual.
It does'nt matter whether people have valid std certificates or not it obviously is making no difference but what is important is if you do find out that you may even in the slightest have an infection then get tested and in the meantime take the antibiotics anyway just as a precaution, these days one mouthful of tablets clears 2 diseases in 1 hit so there are no excuses to be passing it on!!

Try to stay safe!!

The Adult Industry Trade Association (AITA) is currently looking at creating industry guidelines and advice in this area. They currently have few performers and producers as members and would like to open up their membership further.

Check out their site if interested: - it's high time there was a strong and representative trade association to represent this industry.

I've looked at the website...

I've looked at the website - and I agree with Rob... it's great for the wider adult industry... but in terms of producers and performers - it has minimal appeal and relevance.

This issue calls for a formal set up like they have in the US - BAIHA was theoretically sound - it just fell short in practice - maybe NOW would be a good time to push it again.... its often the case that great ideas don't always come to the fore IMMEDIATELY - quite often it takes something opportune to realsie its goal...

The HIV scare in the US was seen by many (myself included) as something of a knee-jerk reaction... capitalsie on this current situation - give it another push.

Rob,

I agree with you based on the existing set-up and orientation of AITA. However, they are a young organisation and looking at how their relevancy and usefulness to the industry can be increased.

I'm a board member; we have a meeting on Nov 1 with the specific objective of looking at how other sections of the adult industry (other than distributors and retailers) can be better served. Any ideas at this point gratefully received!

The board of AITA give up our time unpaid; the reason I do so is that as an industry, we are often under attack from multiple directions - a strong trade body is of benefit to all of us.

A very frustrated Lolly here as due to moving i have had no internet access and have received a number of phone calls about the current topics on this forum.

Searched high and low for a internet cafe and now i can finally have my say....

The nice girl Lolly everyone knows is going to disapear for a few minutes....

WHO THE HELL DOES THE PERSON WHO STARTED THIS TOPIC THINK SHE IS!!!

1 - People in glass houses should not throw stones.

2 - This is a forum for fans and why do they need to know this kinda stuff, there are other places such as Yahoo Groups.

3 - In situations like this there are no culprits. If you are adult enough to be part of this industry you are adult enough to deal with every part of it. I have never heard a model blame others either through implication or fact.

4 - It seems like the person who started this post is trying to name and shame with no facts to back up these accusations and myself personally has found this EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE.

Starting a new interesting topic on the diffrences bewteen what a NHS GU says and other clinics which are more aimed at the adult industry perfomers.

Still got time for kisses

I think that Tequila Woods should be ashamed of herself for even starting this discussion on STDs. I think this way for several reasons. To put performers names on a discussion board with whom she has worked in the past month is a disgrace. But, as in a lot of cases, all is not as it seems!! It is now known that Tequila; having been informed that she had worked with people who had contracted Gonnorhae, did not bother to get tested and CARRIED ON WORKING!!!!!!!!!. ..........So you can guess what happened!?....Yes, she passed it on to other performers with whom I sympathise, as these people are now out of action and out of pocket! Tequila; in future(if you have any future in the industry) do not try and deflect blame and irresponsibility on others by naming them on such a well viewed site when the blame lies in your hands. I sincerely hope that film producers etc. realise what's gone on and that you get no work in the industry. You are no less than lethal. Thank God that it was not any of the other STDs. The results may have been catastrophic; even fatal. SILLY,SILLY LITTLE GIRL.
