Tentative Step Into Porn

Hi everyone, I'm after some advice.

I'm keen to produce some of my own B/G material with the aim of hopefully producing enough to get a website running.

I am planning to do this on my own (at least at first) so will shoot the material in a POV format.

The questions I therefore have are:

- As an amateur with no producing background or references would it be difficult to find models? I would be hoping to book models through sites such as Walpole or Michael Ross.

- STD cert's - I'm assuming this would be essential. Although does it make a difference if condoms would be used?

- To keep costs down I would like to shoot in my own home. Is this a problem?

The Certs are ESSENTIAL the difference is "Aids/Hiv or Not", Lots of models will NOT work without them, male and female will insist.

I also think Micheal Ross has quit or gone bye bye, his website of the last few days has been down.

Locationwise shouldnt be an issue but you may want to expect chaparones so have tea and biscuits in ya front room away from the shooting as when i shoot photos at home, (i have a nice fireplace with a huge mirror over it, leather sofa's lots of crystal and stuff that looks nice in pics), models generally feel a little wierd in that environment once things are comfy its all good tho but better to be prepared for chaparones

Again with no background u may want to expect chaparones keep your head in here, and known and you will soon find that models give you a good word and you be fine you will also find models will come to you once ur up and running

I think it was Brothers Blue on this forum offered to edit and author newbies content on a sort share deal so maybe work with that to begin with and see if in the process u can learn from him ?? or make the deal that "every 3rd shoot we share" that way u can maintain some exclusive content for u site?

Just some ideas that at worth asking him about

On a side note, are you aware of the BBFC ? and 2257 Record Keeping Regulations which are you better sorting before and as you shoot ?

You're biggest problem is going to be persuading people you're not just another wanker with a camcorder looking to shag some porn birds to show your mates. With this in mind, you *really* need to set out your business plan and do your research, so that when the subject of 2257 comes up, you know the answer, instead of "What? Dunno."

Convincing people you're genuine is the biggest starting hurdle you need to get over.

I know what it is, and 80% sure on the answer

Essentially its just a database, what sets they have done, who they did them with, and ID and age at the time, any good management database with copies of ID will cover it theres a little more but not much more

My answer is to build a MySql Cataloque which tracks EVERY image on my site, and attached ID and other items to the database, so i can use ORDER BY in my query and call up nearly anything

Luckily i have some pretty damned smart people who help and advise me.

If im wrong, il just host outside the continental USA and stay away from the USA

Impressive, but it doesn't solve the legal conflict between 2257 and the Data Protection Act which arises when UK primary producers want to supply content to their US affiliates, who are now defined by the US DoJ as secondary producers.

But we're going over old ground again here and it's past my bed-time

to be honest, I havent looked into that side of it as i dont intend on selling my work on

As an idea, with the database it maybe possible to an affiliates table, and cross link the data, so that affiliates have access to UR records but only for the images they have ? I think that should solve the issue but as i said i have NEVER looked into that

So not had to sort that out
