Hi, I am about to launch a new adult dvd discussion / review site and am looking for a few people who would be willing to give me a quick hand and submit some DVD reviews to give the site a bit of a kickstart.
I wont spam this forum by posting the URL, if anyone is willing to help please email me: grant@waxworld.co.uk and I will send over the address.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Grant

Re: DVD Review writers needed
Do you have review copies to work from, or do we have to review things we own? Are you working with adult labels and getting pre releases?

Re: DVD Review writers needed
As the site is new I dont have review copies, Im kind of hoping people will write reviews on titles they own to begin with.
My aim is to approach companies regarding review copies once the site has taken off a little, these would then be forwarded on to the best / most regular review writers to review.
Cheers, Grant

Re: DVD Review writers needed
Are your reviews going to be impartial?
What I mean by this is are you going to give it warts and all. Give praise where praise is due and call a spade a spade when the film isn't that great?

A word of warning, a BGAFD review can take 3 or four hours to do. Get a 3hour long John Mason dvd, check through it for performers and action (even on fast-forward). Make notes, write them up in a reader-friendly way, check database for names, check half a dozen websites for new faces and reference pics, check typing and send. It's an evening's work.
And for no freebies and no payment?

Re: DVD Review writers needed
Titles can be reviewed by multiple users so I would hope they would give an accurate overall rating.

Re: DVD Review writers needed
My point was this.
If you are going to give a warts and all review with both praise and criticism then you are going to upset some producers/distributors.
For example look at the AVN reviews. They have a reputation for ass licking the industry but in truth they only write positive reviews on titles that they like.
If the film is crap then they don't give it a rating and therefore there's no review, no negative comments and hence the producer/distributor doesn't get annoyed with them.
I would think this is important if you are looking for free review copies from the trade necause if your reviewer slags of their films then you might find that the review copies dry up.
Just my opinion though.
