I've sent day before yesterday a message to iafd@rame.net. A former one a year ago. Both times to no avail. thanx, anyway, for the answer.

By fix instead I mean that you have to explain where that misspelling comes from. Is it maybe her real name? I have 25 features plus compilations and never saw her credited with the double l. Even Pat Riley, who is certainly more authoritative than me, list her, in his third edition of his actors index, simply as Leslie Bovee, not giving any alternative name. So I presume that should be the name having first place in your list and not the reverse. Actually, if you don't know (and I presume you don't) where the misspelling comes from, you have to eliminate it.
(I beg pardon to the moderators of egafd for starting this discussion).

The AVN Hall of Fame, IMDB and other sources list her as having two LLs in her name. Some consider it her "primary" name, others an alias. Do a google search on "Leslie Bovee" and "Lesllie Bovee" and you'll see -- she comes up in both spots.

Since Peter is no longer around to verify, my guess is it was how she spelled it back in the day -- which is how Peter put it in the database -- and over time the second L got eroded, so to speak, since it was odd, and we know how much attention porn credits get. :-)

Hm.. I don't see anything in the logs or the spamtrap... but I am only searching for 'shanon' -- is there a different string I should be looking for?

We take incoming mail very seriously... however, we're also backlogged -- the incoming queue is around 1200 messages right now... but I do try to get a form letter at the very least out as an acknowledgement that we took receipt of your suggestion/correction/flame/whatever.

I could bet that the source for the wrong spelling both at IMDB (where it is listed as secondary name, anyway) and at AVN is IAFD. Further, also assuming that the wrong spelling is to be found in some movies (I didn't find or pay attention to it, though I will from now on) they are the exception, not the rule: I'm sure of this. All the more so as such a high unusual spelling should be accepted as the more common only if checked against an elevated number of movies.

P.S. Why don't you eliminate from the lists the compilations or, at least, find a way to differentiate them graphically from the features? It takes away lots of time to click on movies which have little value for the collectors.

I'm flattered that you think that AVN got their spellings from us -- lots of people seem to use it, so I don't know. Like I said, Peter's dead, so I can't definitively say where he got the info.

I'll add the compilation markings to the wishlist.

Bests,
