Currently it is not illegal in NL, but they are busy changing the law. (And no, we don't sell it, even though it is still legal).

In France, the law changed in the middle 90's to authorize it.

And Some foreign movies, mainly from Denmark, appeared on some catalogs and in some Videoclubs (often with farm girl named Bodil).

But it's still very marginal and it's more like just tolerate than really legal.

There is no Euro Law regarding this matter. It depends on each national government. It is illegal in Europe's biggest porn market, Germany and it is most certainly illegal in the UK! As long as it remains illegal in the main porn market it is very unlikely that any mainstream production companies will become involve in its production. If anything I rather suspect that it is more likely to be outlawed in many of the countries that tolerate it now. I see little prospect of much libralisation of the situation. I for one would not miss it!

In France you can find this kind of movies in some video clubs, and not sex specialist.

I recently saw several titles available, mainly with dogs and mainly from Deutschland.

AFAIK (and I am not certain given the myriad of potentially applicable legislation) in the UK, the OPA makes it illegal to ‘distribute’ indecent or obscene’ material i.e. sell, give away, show to another person etc. This does not, however, make it illegal to own, or purchase within the UK (importation is also illegal) - is this correct? If so, is there any additional legislation that makes the most extreme material (bestiality, extreme S &M etc.) completely illegal, as is the case with material featuring ‘underage performers’, or do theses categories 'just' fall under the OPA as above?

Thanks for any clarification?

That's a very good question, Jock! I am not an expert in this field and I am reluctant to give a view because if I am wrong it could have serious consequence for someone. British law has always been very strong on bestiality, it once carried the death penalty, so I would not be at all surprised if there isn't something on the statute book which covers possession. That most obscure piece of legislation, The Cinematigraph (Protection of Animals)Act 1937' could most certainly be used against the film maker. Perhaps there is someone who can give you a more definitive answer.
