Two questions:
Are there any french movies from the 80s (Marianne Aubert, Marylin Jess, Cathy Stewart et. al.) with original sound?
Are there different language versions on the DVD-ReIssues?
DVD-ReIssues of French movies (80s)
Re: DVD-ReIssues of French movies (80s)
Sometimes there is no original sound as sometimes everything was dubbed.
Some of the Alpha France / Blue One DVDs have language options some only have French - it depends whether there was ever another soundtrack and if so whether they still have access to it.
But if you want original sound, the only chance, though not guaranteed (see first paragraph), is Alpha France and Video Marc Dorcel (with the one or two examples from Colmax and the one from Golden Blue) because Ribu will have German sound only, Shendene Italian sound only and American labels English sound only (and sometimes their DVDs will be taken from a poor VHS tape).
Look up the Alpha France (Blue One), Dorcel and Colmax titles on
as they indicate the languages avialble.

Re: Question to DVD-ReIssues
questions to aficionados of 80?s french porn movies:
what can be seen as "original" version??? >>>>
the version with the "original sound"??
does exist a version with o.s or is it only french dubbed??
the longest version as often the German dubbed Ribu version???
does exist a kind of director?s cut .. at that time or today?
or do exist only different producers? or distributors? versions
composed out of raw shooting??

Re: Question to DVD-ReIssues
I doubt that there are many movies from the 80s (or before) with "original sound".
Concerning the RIBU-films, I think, that the french and the german versions were both dubbed.
As far as I know, location sound was used only from the mid to late 80s, in connection with the switch to production on video (as opposed to film).
There are probably lots of different cuts on re-release today.
Depending on who owns the rights, and the availability of the master (negative).
I fear, lots of the DVDs (certainly from small scale producers) are cheap cash-in products, mastered from 3rd class copies.

thanks for your comments ...
it seems my last sentence could be correct:
"do exist only different producers? or distributors? versions
composed out of raw shooting??"
if yes ...
the longest version ( often RIBU) would be the best choice ...
but i have only heard bad things about the RIBU DVD releases.
AP
PS:
does anybody know something exact about the business relation between the french producers/ directors and RIBU??
is it possible that RIBU was the top client and top investor??

Re: RIBU + the French
I don't know any details about the business releations, but as far as I remember, many of the RIBU-films were actually produced / financed by a swiss company (most likely a RIBU company, incorporated for tax reasons in Switzerland).
RIBU was / is part of BEATE UHSE.
