The best Porn-Actress in the Movie!
There were many good actresses in the porn at that time.(1976...1984):
Gail Lawrence aka Abigail Clayton(1978) with Gerard Depardieu in 'Affentraum'(GER)aka 'Ciao maschio'(ITA)aka 'Bye Bye Monkey'(USA)
and Abigal Clayton (as Rosette) aka Gail Lawrence 'Pauline am Strand'(GER)aka 'Pauline ? La Plage'(FRA1982)' with Arielle Dombasle
There only are whores or teeny boppers today.

Re: The best Porn-Actress in the Movie
As you imply Herschi, there are hardly any actresses in porn today. They are, perhaps, best described as models now. Nevertheless this is hardly surprising. It is hardly a good career move now for a serious young actress to do a porn film. It never has been in the UK, but in the 70/early 80's it was possible for serious actresses to do some porn without wrecking their career. The problem doesn't end there. As has been pointed out on these forums many times, there are very few directors in porn now that have any experience of anything other than porn. This is very different from the situation in 70/80's when most directors had experience in the softcore market and, in many cases, the ordinary cinema. Furthermore, the target audience was more obvious in that era. It was the regular audience at the sex cinemas in Europe. Video & DVD means a far larger potential audience, but by its nature it is possible to target particular fetishes. Therefore films now tend to concentrate on a single subject, e.g. big tits, water sports, SM etc etc. The target audience in the 70/80's were not interested in seeing films targetted at a limited interest group.
Re: The best Porn-Actress in the Movie
Economics is also a huge factor. Video killed the porn film then gonzo buried it, especially in the USA, less so in France and Italy. They did this by reducing costs and enabling anyone who could afford to buy a cam corder to make a porn video (of sorts). This dramatically increased competiton and thus reduced sales of any one title. So even directors who are able to make 'films' can't raise the money to do so.
But it may have been happening even before video. I suppose you could argue it began when French porn films were banished from mainstream to specialist sex cinemas. Brigitte Lahaie and Sylvia Bourdon quit porn because they were tired of been asked to do the same things over and over again. Jesie St. James quit on the rise of video, but probably for similar reasons.
Porn fans, many of whom have indiscriminating tastes, are not innocent of blame either. There have been many discussions of this on the bgafd forums where it has been pointed out that most porn titles sell about the same number of copies, regardless of quality. Whetehr things will change in the UK when the novelty of being allowed to buy hard core legally has worn off remains to be seen.
Another problem which has been pointed out on the bgafd forums is that models are now used to being paid by the scene - because of the dominance of the formulaic 4 to 5 scenes of 20 to 30 minutes, especially in the USA - and are thus reluctant to hang around for the few days (at Franco pace) it might take to make a 'film'.
