Well, he lasted about as long as Farage's resignation.
Ambitious enough, hell yes. Clever enough, smart enough, hell no as some Labour business adviser said tonight on radio 4.
Has he just had a taste of the yips? Or is there some dark secret hanging over him? Despite the presence of the "girlfriend", he doesn't exactly sound straight. Will he leave parliament at the next election?
Chuka chucked
Re: Chuka chucked
Something coming out in the papers apparently so he jumped ship first. Wouldn't have been my choice anyway. Rumours around tonight about Keir Starmer, another guy with a very good CV although he hasn't thrown his hat in the ledership ring yet. Now Dan Jarvis isn't running he looks the only hope. Burnham , Cooper etc haven't a cat in hells chance of winning in five years.
Re: Chuka chucked
Someone else on Radio 4 said that (Burnham, Cooper) tonight and that leaves David Miliband to position himself for a return in 2020 and lead Labour to victory in 2025.
Re: Chuka chucked
Christ almighty , that would be 15 years of tory rule
Re: Chuka chucked
Owen Jones and Dan Hodges saying on BBC News the party would be out of power for many years.
Abolish the Fixed Term Parliament Act might help a bit.
Can't see people voting for PM Cooper, can you?

Re: Chuka chucked
No, not in a million. And Burnham strikes me as a right wimp. Depressing really, plenty of people can't afford tory rule let alone 15 years of it.

Re: Chuka chucked
This is really limp on the part of Chuka. He must have been aware of the pressures of standing for leader and being leader, unless he has been asleep for the last five years whilst the press have carried out an onslaught on Miliband.
Being a Shadow Cabinet member also puts people under a lot of doorstepping surely , particularly in the runup for an election in which the Tory press were looking for anything to discredit the Labour party.
With this kind of decision-making, maybe the Labour party had a lucky escape?

I wonder if something is stirring in the Welsh Valleys? A young Kinnock perchance.........or are the rumours that his is a marriage of convenience becuase his rather lovely wife prefers women and he is a keen Pink Oboe player......
Re: Chuka chucked
What's that got to do with Chuka?
