It's amazing how everyone thought Cyril Smith was this kind gentle character during his life, the same with Jimmy Saville. There was a feature on Newsnight tonight about Cyril Smith and other Establishment figures who abused boys at a place called Coronation Buildings in south London, the block has since been demolished. It said the Police were aware of it but they were told not to prosecute and to drop the case. The Police officers were then told that if they breathed a word of it to anyone they would be in trouble under the Official Secrets Act. There was a word that came to my mind as I watched this on Newsnight, although the word was never used in the report. It was "Freemasonry".

Baffled as to why people only think nasty werking claarse council house dwellers are paedos....the problem is rife throughout the whole of society and unfortunatetly these offenders are above the law. Not heard the lodge boys connection but seeing as how they operate at my Golf Club and at work I can fully understand how they can get things diverted, quashed etc. I fear we are looking at a Belgian level of scandal where the government was at risk of falling and the King had to assume power.

There are probably more middle class paedo's than working class ones. Look at public school housemasters, most if not all are posh and virtually all of them like young boys. I find the Freemason thing quite scary. Due procedure and protocol go out the window when you have a senior Police figure and a Judge, both of whom are members of the same Lodge, who decide behind closed doors what will happen regarding a case. Some have claimed it was Freemasonry that stopped the investigation into the Rochdale paedo's:

First of all the Met should not be investigating themselves. I have no faith in the police. Hillsborough. Rotherham etc

Those officers who did nothing except handover their notebooks should be prosecuted too or they should come forward with what they know.

The order to drop this must have come from the Thatcher government of the time and they all need to be investigated. Thatcher was big friends with Saville. Strange now Leon Brittan is dead that the shit is being allowed to hit the fan.

I have to agree with most of what you said but I doubt if many Asian men are Freemasons so why would Masons benefit from stopping an investigation ?

I agree, it should be an independent body or at the very least a different force (sorry, I mean "service") doing the investigating. We are told that their investigation is being "overseen" by the IPCC. But what that actually means here and whether it's really worth much remains to be seen.

I have no doubt Cyril Smith and his mate Saville knew all the very top people who were abusing kids and would bring the lot down if they were arrested. I have no doubt this is still going on today amongst certain members of the establishment.

One of the key factors is finding out the who, what, when, is giving immunity from prosecution (apparently many were threatened with contravention of the Official Secrets Act) and immunity from loss of pensions, demotions for all those people in the police who come forward with evidence of what went on.

Time and time again, whistleblowers e.g. in the NHS end up having their careers destroyed for highlighting malpractice.
