David Gilmour "UK" Tour
That will be five already sold out nights at the Albert Hall then Dave? Does he have an issue with playing outside London?

Re: David Gilmour "UK" Tour
Maybe there were no available dates in suitably large venues elsewhere in the country either prior to and/or after the London dates suitably close enough (in terms of a time frame) that allowed for the huge logistics of a major artist (with all the session musicians required) touring at reasonable costs.
I have friends who are promoters, booking bands and putting on tours. When some fans see a list that may include, for example, Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham, Norwich, Bristol and London they'll get abusive posts from people complaining that the artist/manager/everyone & anyone involved in the tour must hate people in Newcastle/Sheffield/Cardiff etc because those areas aren't on the schedule. Usually, the simple fact is that no venues were available on dates suitable to fit within the band's touring schedule.

Re: David Gilmour "UK" Tour
This was advertised on the front page of the London Evening Standard on Friday. When I read it I was wondering whether Gilmour felt he might not sell out the shows. He would always have sold them out, even if they were not advertised, I would imagine. Word would get around. Gilmour solo, or Gilmour with Pink Floyd, is always successful. His solo album 'On An Island', which I have, went to number one in many countries, including the UK obviously. I was puzzled as to why the ad for these Albert Hall shows talking of "David Gilmour, the voice and guitar of Pink Floyd" appeared on the front page of the London evening paper two days ago.
