Long serving character on Coronation Street has died after a short illness.

It's a shame, she was 60 and that is a premature age to go. Our thoughts are with her family. I don't know how they are going to write the character out of the show, I don't suppose Deidre will emigrate or move to another part of Manchester, they will probably have her passing away like Anne Kirkbride has. RIP to Anne.

RIP , grew up watching the deidre affair with mike baldwin. She was a fine actress.
