Apologies to Mr.Slater but this terrible news seems worthy of its own thread.
Cocker was one of my heroes as a kid. Get home after a few pints, put Joe Cocker and Mad Dogs and Englishmen on the deck and let rip.
He could take someone else's song e.g. Paul McCartney's With a Little Help from my Friends and own it, so it was difficult to imagine it was written for anyone else other than Joe Cocker.
Thanks for the great memories. RIP

Re: Joe Cocker RIP
Sad loss. 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen' is probably my favourite live album, with a great open out sleeve. Its up there with 'Too Late to Stop Now' by Van the Man.

Re: Joe Cocker and Booby Keys RIP
And of course the album/film featured Bobby Keys who died just a few week ago.

Andy
Yeah there were some real greats that played either live or on the studio album.
Bobby Keys, Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge and not forgetting one, James Page on guitar on a studio version of With a Little Help from my Friends.

RIP Joe. An awesome singer. Shall dig out Night Calls and blast it in the car later today.
