No, but they had stated quite clearly that the Scottish economy is not dependent on oil revenue if that is what you are trying to imply?

Hi Mick,
Hope you are well. No this is not what I am trying to imply. However, throughout the independence claim, Salmond stressed the importance of oil to Scotland and accused the Better together group and the OBR of purposely downplaying the potential revenue streams available in coming years from oil and new discoveries. This was a frequent part of the SNP line.

However low and behold, the reality is now that the price of a barrel of oil is about $60 whereas Salmond's calculations for tax revenue were on the basis of $100 a barrel which leaves a helluva shortfall.

On all of these recent events there appear to have been a deafening silence on the part of Salmond and Sturgeon.

Currently chuckling at the fact that some of the oil reserves wouldn't be feasible to drill for as there would not be a profit.....hope the UK's biggest BMW dealer in Aberdeen has decent cash reserves...

But wait...it's Christmas and Global Shortbread is reporting record sales...free beer and haggis all round....
