Did I say they did? I can perhaps do without the explanation frankly, given it was me that had to explain to you that aid agencies as well as charities have "charitable" status.

Did I say they did? They maintain a caring stance as part of their overall good service objective, in support of extracting as much dosh as possible from their customers.

Yeah, I used to do that, but then I got let down when I found out the manager of the local charity was spending it all on trips to the Caribbean.

And then I started paying into the charity organised by the bloke down the road who said he had multiple sclerosis. And then, one day, I saw him performing in the local gymnastics team.

Now I just spend it on myself. Charity begins at home. Must remember to get a quote for a new boiler. Do you reckon I will be able to get charitable tax exemption status?

I disagree. Like a lot of people, you only appear to see faults such as sarcasm in other people, never yourself.

Sam Slater calls your comment childish and ignorant. No response from Essex Lad. Your comment about Susan Boyle is clearly silly. If I could be bothered I could describe it as "sarcastic". No response from Essex Lad.

No problem though for you to accuse others of sarcasm. Maybe you should look at yourself first?

Well, describing brave nurses like Will Pooley who is helping to fight Ebola and other charity front line workers risking their lives in West Africa as "drones" is disgustingly sneering. As is your post with the subject "why charities are a con"

No reply to my criticism at the time from Essex Lad. If I could be bothered, I could pick out many, many more examples.

Like I said, maybe a good idea to start looking at your own behaviour first?
