Well, if you think the goings-on at Man Utd are strange. They have nothing on Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.
This week's lesson, you don't cross Vincent Tan, owner of Cardiff City. Tan sacked Ian Moody last year from his role as head of recruitment which resulted in him taking a similar role as sporting director at Crystal Palace. Tan didn't like the way Moody had handled various transfers.
A couple of months later Tan sacked manager, Malky Mackay. Now we know why Mackay went from suing Tan for ?7.5million in compensation for wrongful dismissal to a "apology without reservation" for "causing offence to Vincent Tan". Tan obviously had some dirt on Morgan and Mackay which surfaced a couple of days ago as Mackay looked odds on for the Crystal Palace manager job i.e. racist, homophobic messages between Moody and Mackay and a 400 page dossier including text messages, emails and transfer details from Tan's lawyers to the FA.
Result? Moody resigns from Crystal Palace. Mackay is scratched from the list of possible managers for Palace. Tan denies any involvement in giving the information to the newspapers.
This one will run and run.
And finally, re. Balotelli's proposed transfer to Liverpool, that Brendan Rodgers likes a challenge doesn't he?
