I watched the Man U match on Saturday, then the Chelsea match on Monday.
The difference could not have been greater.
United looked a disorganized mess and resorted to giving two youngsters their
debuts (when they had Fellaini, Nani, Januzaj and Kagawa - all internationals -
on the bench).
Chelsea looked quality and it was great to watch a team of intelligent classy
players working together.
It occurred to me that probably 7 of the Chelsea team would walk into the Man
Utd team (including the whole Chelsea back 4), with only Rooney, Mata, De Gea
and Van Persie (still to play this season) keeping their places (and maybe Shaw
when he is fit).
I cannot believe how badly run Man Utd have been for the last two years.
For example if you are going to sell Evra why sell Buttner (or vice versa) and
leave yourself with only an injured Shaw and no cover at left back. And they
have never really had a good right back since Gary Neville retired.
And why let Vidic and Ferdinand go when you have not bought a single centre
back to replace them.
And to be honest the appointment of Moyes was a terrible mistake in the first
place. At the start of last season I said on another forum that he would not
be there by the end of that season. If I could see it why could nobody at the
club see it (before he was appointed of course), or were they blinded by
Fergie.
For a club of the size and prestige of Man Utd. they have been run like a team
of amateurs.
They have no chance of winning the league this year, and may not even make
the top 4.
Note I am not a supporter of Man Utd or Chelsea,
What's going on at Man Utd then?

You're right. It all starts with Moyes imho. If Sir Alex and stayed on one more year, bringing van Gaal in now, do you think Vidic and Evra would have pissed off? Do you think Steve Round and Phil Neville would have been in coaching roles?
Nope.
Nope.

Some Man Utd fans discussing their club's problems... Moyes isn't mentioned because they believe the rot set in long before he was appointed manager. Have a look at the forums on Red Cafe and elsewhere and you'll see the same discussion going back several years.
[url]http://www.bobsingleton.co.uk/Screen-Sh ... 01.jpg[url]
It's what I've been saying for a long time... the problem started BEFORE Moyes was made manager, and is continuing even now that he has gone.
I've never said Moyes was the greatest manager ever. Indeed, if the two moronic cunts could be bothered to learn how to read, I've often said he's NOT the best manager ever. However what I have said is that he is not entirely to blame.
Seemingly, in the eyes of those two cunts, saying he is not entirely to blame is exactly the same as saying he is the greatest ever manager... living or dead. That's why I'm calling them cunts... they don't deserve anyone being civil to them.

Back to football. Another signing...a defender....When will they sign a world class midfielder to replace Keane? Man U could probably sign a deal to supply pork to the local synagogue so why can't they sign the players they need? Someone is defo going awol behind the scenes?

Argie
Well, I seem to recall van Gaal saying that he wanted to give the current players a chance by watching them play a few times, including in the Premier League.
Maybe he was lulled by the pre-season United had.
However, given the transfer window closes in less than a fortnight, not much time to replace the experienced core of the team that has gone.

Well they do need defenders as well as mid-fielders. Jones? Smalling? Evans? Rafael? Varela? Shaw? Blackett? Which one of those would get a starting place at City or Chelsea? Or even at Liverpool or Arsenal?
de Gea would be 4th choice at Chelsea behind Courtois, Cech and Schwarzer and 3rd choice at City.
As for the midfield... I didn't know they had one.
Keane left in what, 2005, 2006? That's a long time not replacing a vital player. As I'm not a United fan, I may be wrong as I don't follow every single move they make in the transfer market, but until Fellaini was signed last summer, I believe their previous central midfield signing was Owen Hargreaves. That must have been about 7 or 8 years ago.
But of course it's 100% Moyes' fault!

Re: What's going on at Man Utd then?
I didn't accuse you of saying Moyes was the greatest manager ever, I accused you of defending him for things he got wrong. I also pulled you up on your using the Swansea defeat as something to justify your points about the team last year (that the squad wasn't good enough).
I pointed out that this squad now has 75% of it's back four missing and Giggs retiring, so you cannot equate it to the squad of last season.
In a long, drawn out affair you said silly things about Ferguson planning all along to let the squad deteriorate and when his wife might get ill just so he could retire at the right time. Utter poppycock. (As if Ferguson would destroy what he'd built up on purpose). It's laughable and something a 14 year old would make up.
To top it off you said in this thread they wouldn't make the top four unless they signed players while in my thread asking for predictions for the EPL, you placed them 3rd.
Because I'm not having any of your Ferguson conspiracy theories and don't agree with you on the squad last season, I'm a 'bullying cunt'. I guess the only way I can stop being a 'bullying cunt' is to agree with you on everything from now on. That's convenient for you, innit?
I'll take being called a cunt if I'm being a cunt, but this is you throwing your toys out of the pram.
Grow the fuck up you prat.

Really????
Where have I said Ferguson PLANNED to let the squad deteriorate? I may have said, given his age and the amount of rebuilding needed, that having won another title he thought, "that's me done" but that's not the same thing as deliberately planning the deterioration, however much you want to twist what I say.
No he didn't plan the deterioration... but he allowed the squad to deteriorate over time by remaining cosy with the Glazers and not rocking the boat.
To replace Scholes, he brought Scholes out of retirement. If his midfield was so strong, why was he after players like Schneider, only to then claim there was "no value in the market" when he didn't sign them, but allowed himself to be held to ransom by Rooney, Ferdinand etc and offering them ever more bloated contracts? Read my earlier posts in other threads and you'll discover the reason.
And where is this quote I'm supposed to have written about his wife getting ill... I seriously don't recall ever writing anything about his wife anywhere.
You just can't help making stuff up to try and prove your point. You truly have excrement where others have their brains! What a prize cunt you are!

Do I trust the Glazers' figures? Enron was "profitable" until the day it went bust. If Utd was doing so well, why would the Glazer vampire clan have sold a percentage on the NYSE? It offers them a way out.
They are happy to trumpet huge sponsorship deals with Chevrolet and the like, but who gets to see the contracts? Does the money keep coming in if the club does not qualify for the CL? There must be break clauses, but you don't get to hear about them, only the $750 million or however much it is, as if it is all paid out on day one. The Glazers are bullshitters whose only goal is to bleed Utd white and then flog it on to another muppet. And the Premier League are such a bunch of gutless scum that they will let it happen.
