Robin Williams has died

Post by spider »

Where is Max.... it's his job to make these postings, is he on holiday or something?

They say Robin Williams was very depressed shortly before he died.

He must have spent his last few days watching his own films!

Lol. I did announce the passings of Margaret Thatcher and Nelson Mandela on here. I heard the news earlier but this is the first time I've been online today, so you beat me to it.

It's sad that he's died, I had no idea he'd had drug and alcohol problems over the years. I have no experience of drugs and I only drink in moderation, but from what I understand people who take drugs aren't just messed up by the drugs but by the people around them too. It involves false friendships, people who use you, and people you'd never associate with unless you were both drug-heads. All of that AND the negative effects of the drug use too. I've never taken drugs and I'm glad I haven't but what I've just outlined is what the whole thing involves, from what I understand. Alcohol addiction must be awful as well, people say you cant predict how the following day will go. You must feel awful all the time as well. I feel sorry for Robin Williams, he had both drug AND alcohol problems.

He was also seriously depressed, from the reports on TV. I don't know if the drugs and alcohol contributed to that, maybe it was because of his depression that he got into alcohol and drugs. It's sad that he'd died. RIP.

Very sad. He could seem mawkish in some of his movie roles but he was
splendid as the psychopath in "Insomnia" with Al Pacino. On stage his
quick fire gags and impersonations were legendary.....I also find it rather
fascinating how a man who was a millionaire, still working in movies and TV,
owed so much to ex-wives and was so worried and depressed by it all that it
moved him to kill himself. I suspect my yearly earnings wouldn`t have kept
Robin Williams in sandwiches, but then I don`t have two ex-wives after
alimony - or as RW called it, "all the money".
