ISIS documentary...

Post by Sam Slater »

.......kindof.

For anyone interested there is an ongoing documentary on youtube from Vice News. A short 10 min clip every day for 5 days. The first two have already been published:

Part 1:
Part 2:

Pretty horrifying stuff really and given it was ISIS that asked Vice News to film them, this stuff is what ISIS want to show us, not what a network with an agenda wants to show you.

Some damn brave reporting if you ask me.

These Islamic State guys definitely need a different approach to media management. That probably results from being a bunch of seemingly bonkers, bloodthirsty mass murderers.

Remind me now, were there tens of thousands of terrorists armed to the teeth bringing large sectors of Iraq to complete chaos before the UK and the US launched an illegal war in Iraq?

The US are much better at media management. When the US army carries out war crimes, they prefer to keep it private and accuse anybody who publicises these acts as aiding the enemy and send them down for 30 odd years.

Ask Bradley (now Chelsea) Manning...

Err.."That probably results from being a bunch of seemingly bonkers, bloodthirsty mass murderers.

What do you think the answer to your question is Bernard?

"Should we keep our noses out and let them get on ethic cleansing"

In this particular case, they should be attacked, certainly by air in line with what Obama is doing.

ISIS and social media

I think you will find that when it comes to media management they dont need lessons, especially in the use of social (sic) media like Twitter. US intelligence, rather than requesting the ISIS access be blocked, are using it as a source of info on what they are up to.

David, typically trying to blame the west for ISIS atrocities.......and if we'd let Saddam alone he'd be banging on about how we are to blame for Saddam's atrocities. To say Saddam would stop ISIS without countering it against the tens of thousands of his own people he murdered himself make the point mute.

He thinks it's deep and cosmopolitan thinking. I think it's taking away their responsibility and treating them like bad little puppies who chew the furniture and just don't know any better - it's dehumanising them as much as any racist would. Pity he can't see this. For me, they are human beings - bad human beings.

ISIS are fighting secularism, Shia, Christians and everyone in between. On the videos they cite their religion numerous times to not only justify what they're doing but as a source of strength, moral and encouragement. But David balks at criticising their religion for fear of being thought of as an Islamophobe. Blind to what's there for all to see.

I wonder what the last thoughts of this little 'kafir' girl was? (Warning: graphic)

I cannot imagine. But we all know what the last words she will have heard before she died, don't we?

"Allahu Akbar!" - God is great.

ISIS, or Islamic State as their media consultant has decided to rebrand them are the latest bogie men following al Qaeda but they are far more media savvy ? a terrorist group with a twitter account.

The picture in the link posted does appear to be that of a decapitated little girl but is it genuine?

Remember during the first Gulf War there were stories of Iraqi troops taking Kuwaiti babies out of their incubators and leaving them on the floor to die? Or raping them... or using them for bayonet practice. All later showed to be utter rubbish.

Islamic State, the terrorist organisation formerly known as ISIS, do appear to be committing atrocities but how many are independently verified?

What should we do? Nothing. It isn't our problem. Our intervention will only exacerbate the situation.
