Suarez banned

Post by David Johnson »

Suarez has been banned by FIFA for 9 international matches starting from now and from "all footballing related activity for four months".

In other words, no Premier League involvement until the end of October.

I think the buck toothed cannibal has got off rather lightly, but to be honest I am surprised FIFA has had the bottle to do anything about him at all.

Ouch.

It's a little harsh on Liverpool really, but they knew he'd bitten someone when they bought him, stood by him when he racially abused Evra 7 times in one match, defended his eye gouge of Scott Parker and stood by him again when he bit Ivanovic.

If you're going to continually stand by a player with such a record, you have to accept the consequences.

And let's be honest, if he was a bit-part player, they'd have sacked him by now.

Ouch??? The only one who has a right to say that is Chielini!!! ;-)

Personally I think he got off lightly... that's 3 times he's bitten someone now. Next time it happens nothing short of a worldwide lifetime ban should suffice.

If that happened in any other form of workplace, such as an office, you'd be thinking along the lines of a custodial sentence.

Because this was his first offence in a FIFA competition he got a nine match ban. Like a bite, a four match ban from all football related activities has got to hurt. Even if Liverpool stopped his wages during the ban it wouldn't hurt.

The harder you cum. The more you enjoy it.

I see his sponsor 888 have dropped him. Comes to something when even an online betting company won't sponsor you.

They should have gone with an 'ate/ate/ate' parody ad!

Suarez is obviously a very talented individual ... a very important member of his national team (and Liverpool) and a match winner. However, he is a disgrace, an absolute disgrace to his country who now have to play on without him ... and will struggle. He has disgraced Liverpool and insulted everyone who has tried to help him with this repeated bad behaviour.
His actions directly after he committed the offence were an 'admission of guilt' if you know what I mean ....faking that he had been the victim.
The ban is lenient (just my opinion) His country should ban him ... Liverpool I think will off load him, the player is a repeat offender and FIFA are aware of this.
The sad and important point that I'd like to make is thousands and thousands, possibly millions of young children dreaming of being football players will have seen what he did ... big brothers and dads up and down the country will need to explain this mans actions.
Suarez is a world class player who can change a game ... however he is an hooligan.

To some Liverpool fans he is a disgrace. To others his ban will give them another 20 years worth of whining ammo....
