"An England player injured himself on the sidelines tripping over a bottle and had to fly home. He was "gutted". An overpaid cunt, it's about time they slashed the money they earn and made them fucking work, then maybe they'd really make an effort."
Er.... that player was actually the England physio Gary Lewin. Just goes to show how a dangerous a bottle of water can be.

There's nothing to slash. England players don't get paid for playing for England. They would receive bonuses however, should they progress through the competition, up to ?350,000 per man if they were to actually win the World Cup.

I think they get something like a grand for expenses, but no, they don't get paid for playing for their country.

Wot. Already it is a lot more exciting than the dire football games played in South Africa. Despite getting beaten, England played more attacking football in one game than they did in the three group games in South Africa.
Brilliant Netherlands performance against Spain. Argentina and Brazil, despite being amongst the favourites have not looked the part. Surprise results like Costa Rica beating Uruguay. And so far only one goalless draw.
Good stuff.

I must agree I was rooting for Mexico seeing as both BBC commentators must have had a tenner on Brazil....

Really admire the hard working team spirit from Chile in Knocking Spain out early last evening.
England were given a roasting for losing to them last November but it seems they are a good side.

Another turn-up for the books in this really good World Cup so far. Chile are an excellent side. Beautiful first goal and their work rate and team spirit were awesome. It certainly was no fluke that they turfed Spain out of the competition.
It seems like the changes in how really successful teams in the Champions League play have fed through to national sides. Last year, Bayern Munich completely blew away Barcelona's tikki takka play with fast, skilful, energetic football. The Netherlands and Chile have used exactly the same approach to hammer Spain.

Was listening to moany England supporters moaning about the Uruguay result on the radio. You would have thought a Tory government had just been re-elected the way they were moaning. At the end of the day people have to get rid of their arrogance and realise England are not good enough and no amount of manager and player changing would have changed the result.
People were moaning about what happened to England in the World Cup 2010. Seems we have taken a small step backwards.
