I know an awful lot of people who share your thoughts Cunty, none of them are racist or have anything against anyone of any colour or culture but they have just had enough of people in this country being forced to change their ways and having to walk on tip toes and frightened to open their mouths in public.

If you go to someone elses house, you respect them and their home and abide by their rules, you DON'T go in and start moving the furniture around, redecorating, saying 'this needs to be like this' and 'that needs to be like that'. That is how it should be if you go to a country other than the one from which you belong, the minute you set foot on foreign soil you should respect that country and it's people and abide by the laws and traditions, the ways of that country, NOT try to force your ways onto them, and if you aren't happy to do so then don't go there in the first place.

This is an interesting statement Raymond. You know what? I have been on this forum for years and there have been some real numpties that have come and gone - BNP supporters, English Defence League supporters etc.

And you know, Raymond, none of them describe themselves as racist. They all start with "Don't get me wrong, I'm not racist BUT etc. The BUT is usually followed by a description of something wrong/stupid/disgusting that a Muslim has done from which they extrapolate to tar all Muslims in a way that they would not do with other nations or religions.

For example, there are Christians who have for decades fought a campaign against abortions in the UK whether it be standing outside abortion clinics protesting or forcing their views on everyone so that people in Northern Ireland and IReland for decades have had to come to England for abortions. But no-one ever says "Those Christians are terrible, they "try to force their views" on people. Never ever!!!

So a challenge to you, Raymond, Cunty, Max, Peter and all those forumites who seem obsessed by Muslims and deeply affected, how have Muslims affected you in your daily life at home or at work?

I do not want any Daily Mail stories, what I want is personal stories about how Muslims have affected you at home or work. In Cunty's case all he can come up with is that there is a few less outlets where he can buy a bacon bap which is pretty pathetic in terms of impact.

SO lads, over to you, let's here your stories. Let the rest of the forumites see what you are made of or whether you, Cunty, Raymond, Peter etc. etc. are just empty bags of wind.

Except the analogy doesn't really work of immigrant communities that now live here. They're not guests like guests visiting someone's house. They're now roommates, paying their proportion of the rent, gas, electric and water.

That may be the problem with a lot of people against Halal. They don't care about the animals, the symbolism or religious rituals intruding on their secular lives. They just see Muslims as 'guests' that come and rearrange the furniture.

David, I think that one reason why a lot of people resent Muslims is that very rarely do the moderates (in the persona of the "community spokesmen" who usually appear on our screens) seem to condemn the more extreme elements of muslim society very strongly.

Their apologies / disassociations often seem to be very lukewarm and insincere, often along the lines of "yes this sort of behaviour is unacceptable but on the other hand a lot of young muslims are very angry so you can kind of understand .... blah blah blah"

Not all that different to "I'm not racist but ..." really.

This is completely wrong. I have lost count of the hundreds and hundreds of condemnations coming from Muslim groups of the actions of the 7/7 bombers, the killers of Lee Rigby and other extremists. I have lost count of the number of interviews I have seen in which Muslims argue against the views of the more extreme members like Choudhary.

Anyway, you are one of the people on this forum who appear to have huge problems with Muslims. Please tell me at a personal everyday level at home and at work, how Muslims have had a detrimental effect on your life.

none David, I think that ALL muslims are wonderful paragons of good behavior, enlightened thinking, tolerance and non-violence. How silly of ANYONE to think that some of them could be otherwise. Anyone claiming that they have had any sort of bad experience with any muslims must be making it all up.
