Sad that he passed away. An all-round nice guy and a great actor. You got the impression he was just an ordinary guy-next-door, very unlike a lot of celebs, and would treat you as an equal. RIP Bob.

Yep, I remember a great performance he did in The Long Good Friday with Helen Mirren.

A great film, Hoskins shows just how versatile he was as an actor. It is also a great visual record of how the Canary Wharf area of London's docklands looked before they turned the area into Hong Kong and built those huge towers. Many scenes in the film were shot there and you see the quayside's when the area was nothing but 2 storey (derelict by then) Victorian warehouses.

RIP. Will have to dig out Pennies from Heaven now,what a masterpiece that was. Bob was a fantastic actor.
