Friend of mine who does a lot of out-door commercial fashion & beauty shoots has been using an ice light for about 2 and a half years or so (he's a Westcott "pro user" so gets a fair bit of gear from them pre-launch to test out and was one of the first UK togs to have one). He let me use it for a shoot last summer and the lighting from it is absolutely beautiful. However, I can't justify buying one for myself just now (higher up my list of "wants" is the Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 lens)

Good to see others using and liking it. I've used it a couple of times now and it really does impart a lovely wrap-around light to the subject as well as fitting in my bag no trouble. Think I might buy another for two-hander interviews. Give me a shout Bob if you would like to borrow them sometime. There's an add-on battery pack coming that will give up to 5 hours use, long enough for the most tedious talking heads.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure when I would need such lighting just now. I'm mostly shooting fashion shows at LFW and elsewhere (which is why I have my eyes on a 120-300mm as at some events the 200mm end of my 70-200mm is a bit short) and gigs (had to shoot from the sound desk the other day and again the 70-200 was just a bit short).

Nice looking lens, and a pretty decent wide aperture for such a long focal length. Wouldn't mind one myself were it not for the price.
