People who are inventive with their tax-returns are just as bad as Benefit fraudsters
in my opinion. Denying the State money they should be getting from you, meaning
the State coffers are reduced, is just the same as taking too much from the State,
thus having the same effect on State finances. The problem is: NO ONE GIVES A SHIT!!
I was a Civil Servant for years and if you saw the corruption that went on at this
large Government department you would be shocked! Senior civil servants, MP's,
Lords and ministers are ten times more cynical and uncaring than a Benefit
swindler when it comes to public money. They view the Treasury like their
own personal piggy bank.
There are thought to be at least 50 Lords who just show up to get
their ?150.00 a day attendance allowance. One was exposed a few weeks ago
by the Daily Mirror. He arrived, signed in, this meant the ?150.00 would go
straight into his bank account, then left the building about 4 minutes later. MP's
and parliamentarians don't care, loads of people in the City don't care about the
huge tax-payer funded bailouts they've received for their mistakes and they
sleep-easy every night completely uncaring about the damage it has done to
the country by the resulting cuts that had to be made. A number of people
on Benefit couldn't care less - so it doesn't set a very good example does it?
People look to others for their example and when they see people behaving
in society like I've described it will encourage them to not give a shit either.
Lying to the Benefits people...

Years ago when it was less common to employ clever accountants to minimise, reduce,
or do-away-with your tax bill, the Government would have received a lot more
money. Imagine if society was today like it was a couple of generations ago, when
fewer of these tax-limiting accountancy outfits were around - the Government's coffers
would be a lot more bulging!

Re: sparky
These people in it for the lifestyle are a insignificant minority taking at best a tiny amount whereas rampant tax evasion for massive sums is rife.
If we use the Goverments favourite analogy of the household budget why would anyone prioritise the slow dripping tap over the bastards that are continually stealing all the pipes?

Re: sparky
That's quite a good analogy. Another would be: 'a drip compared to a torrent'.
