Having 'the last word' on the forum...

I've more or less said that at the top. It's a tricky one. People should keep replying if they have something they regard as valid to say, but shouldn't if they haven't. The problem is the other people who have posted on that thread won't know if people have read that last comment, are ignoring it, think the person is talking gibberish, or have left it unresponded-to because they think there's nought new to say.

"I think David is being ironic here."
Surely not.

Max - just seen this post - and I heartily agree, though I don`t have any
answer. Its human nature, I suppose, that the bigger egos always want the
last word.
When I put up a post on this site I usually do not reply and never more than
once. I have made my point and you do not have to agree to me. I am
entitled to my opinion, even if it is contentious or outrageous. I know that
one of the main reasons Jim Slip stopped using bgafd regularly was his
irritation that certain others always insisted on the last word. Frankly, I
couldn`t give a damn. I will make my point and that's enough !

It is a shame Jim Slip stopped posting, it must be a year and a half since he last appeared here. He often had interesting things to say. Just thought I'd say that the forum misses Jimbo's comments. This is not me trying to have the last word. lol.
