Mark Duggan 'lawfully killed'...
The jury in the case has just found by an 8-2 majority that Duggan was 'lawfully killed' by Police. I hope that the hysteria which is bound to be whipped up by this does not lead to social unrest. Left-wingers are already flapping about it. Diane Abbott has had something to say in the last few minutes, I just saw these on another website but the comments were originally posted on everyone's favourite social networking site, Twitter:
STARTS
"If the #duggan jury believe that he did not have a gun in his hand when he was shot, how can they find it was a lawful killing? #baffled"
"On a majority verdict of 8 to 2 the #duggan jury has concluded that it was a lawful killing."
ENDS
A lot of 'community leaders' , who no one has ever heard of, are likely to come out of the woodwork and have lots to say in the coming hours and days. Let's hope Tottenham, and other places, don't erupt as a result of this.

Max..
Well what a surprise, "lawful killing". Not that he had a gun when he was shot of course according to the jury.
Some interesting stats
This covers all the deaths in police custody and others arising from contact with the police e.g. pursuit, shooting etc.
This totals nearly 1500 deaths
And this is the number of unlawful killing verdicts and manslaughter or other serious prosecutions of police/immigration staff etc. etc. in cases of deaths in prison, police custody or pursuits since 1990
It's less than 20.
Now call me cynical, Maximilian, but this doesn't seem quite right to me!!!

Well I'm glad this decision has been reached but it worries that the only decision which would satisfy the vested intrest groups (and there's a lot if them!) was that he was a nice innocent bloke out for a drive murdered by police because he was black.
Either way the media have what they want a George Zimmerman who can be hung out to dry.

Well it could be argued "it worries me that the only decision which would satisfy the vested interest groups (and there's a lot if them!) was that he was a hardened criminal among Europe's most feared and violent criminals.
Mind he did have a ?280 fine for handling stolen goods so he was a proven hard nut in terms of his criminal record that's for sure.....

Re: Mark Duggan 'lawfully killed'...
I haven't bothered to read the original post or the ones under it as i know from experience some of them will go along the lines of he deserved it, good riddance, our police are such good boys etc etc plus i was at a funeral yesterday and have read press reports only.
The police being judge and jury for Duggan sparked massive riots, criminality and people lost their lives. The inquest result means the Met police will see this as a licence to carry on their 'Racist Shoot To Kill' policy thereby causing possibly more civil unrest. It's not the first time the Met have implemented their 'Racist Shoot To Kill' either.
Duggan should have been arrested, tried before a jury and locked up for years. Much cheaper than the cost of putting good the riot damage, all the court trials and the unnecessary loss of life.
I can just imagine the Racist Met singing "1-0 to the 'Racist Police" after this verdict.

The Met are far from perfect but I don't envy them trying to police a city with so much organised crime and cultural diversity.

Somebody has also pointed out that the nutters at Woolwich weren't shot dead. Yet they had killed and came at the police with weapons. Were they not killed because there were cameras about. I wonder. Tho Old Bill made themselves look even better when they gave the nutters first aid.
I welcome the use of cameras in future "Shoot To Kill" operations so you can get a better/real picture of what really does happen.

Let's get this stupid misconception out if the way that you can shoot only to injure or perhaps in the fantasy world some live in maybe the weapon out of their hand.
An officer or for that matter anyone with a gun shoots to kill if the target escapes with a injury that removes them from being a threat then bully for them.
Using the woolich rent a jihadist as an example of the selective nature of the police is slightly flawed as they were just a bit black also the nature of their wounds shows that they were trying of klll them as they showed a danger to the public and officer just like Dugan did or so they believed at the time.
Frankly I think the worlds a far better place without this scum anyway and frankly would be far happier to know their was a initiative too kill dregs like this and his ilk.
