Swansea win at OT
And another home defeat for the Salford Cockneys. And a home player sent off. Would never have happened when Slur Purplenose was in charge. Refs would have been too intimidated. Moyes must feel like a pair of eyes are burning into the back of his head from the executive box....

You have a poor memory.
Last season under Ferguson Man Utd had 2 players dismisssed in home matches, Rafael and Nani.

Well, it is not the defeat in the FA Cup that is the concern but the poor performance in the League.
At the moment it is hard to see Man Utd winning the Premiership unless Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea all have a collapse. Even third placed Chelsea are 9 points ahead with a better goal difference so a Man Utd victory in the League looks really unlikely. The best that Utd can hope for, I guess is getting 4th place and into the Champions League.
If this doesn't happen then I can see difficulties for Utd. They lose out on the Champions League millions in a club that is still heavily leveraged by the Glazers. Will Rooney stay if there is no Champions League? Will van Persie stay given that the main reason for his move was to win trophies? Will star players want to move to Utd. with the question marks hanging over Moyes?
I see trouble ahead.

And no doubt both refs were demoted to Non League. Will be interesting if they can land any genuine star players in the transfer window.....or do a last hour panic...

Can they afford to sack him? Can they afford not to sack him? Regarding the former, they gave him a six year contract. If they sack him now, that's going to be one hell of a pay-off. Money that they desperately need to spend on players (Vidic and Ferdinand need to be replaced, they need new full backs, a few central midfielders, a wide-attacking player or two and some forwards to replace both van Persie and Rooney, who will both be gone if Utd don't qualify for the Champions League). Furthermore, all the managers of a calibre suitable for a club of the stature of Man Utd are all in good jobs... can you seriously see any of Pep, Jose, Ancelloti, etc., leaving their jobs mid-season to undertake a forlorn rescue job? So in many respects, Man Utd are stuck with Moyes.
Yet, can they really afford to keep him? From what I've read, his training sessions are from a bygone era and seem to be contributing to some of the club's injury problems. He has owners who have seriously under-invested in new players over the last few seasons, relying instead on Sir Alex's "magic formula" to make a poor squad perform beyond the sum of its parts, and when given money he panic buys (over ?27m on Fellaini days after he could have got him for ?23m... as his former manager he must have known about the clauses in his contract, yet didn't act in a timely manner).
The noises coming out of OT are very different too... you'd never hear SAF say "we don't think we can get the players we want". How many times have we seen Man U do all their business almost as soon as a season ends? This time they did almost no business until the panic buy as the window was close to closing after target after target was named and then refused to move or went elsewhere.
They are in serious trouble. Owners with no money. Directors with no knowledge of how to close a deal in secret. A manager without a clue. It was often said that Moyes had made Everton perform above their station. Given what Martinez is doing, maybe Everton under Moyes was underachieving! Makes that "Chosen One" banner look more like a shroud with which to wrap the decaying body.
