Exploited migrant workers - investigation
Why doesn't this kind of story share the headlines with the 'benefit tourism' ones ?

Because if doesn't fit in the with the prejudiced and small minded bigots perception of reality. They are happy to see foreigners exploited but woe betide these foreigners if they claim dole. Foreigners are only on this planet to benefit the bigots as far as the bigots are concerned.

Unrestricted immigration of cheap labour puts British workers on the dole. You would think some so-called Labour politicians would have worked it out by now. Maybe they prefer having cheap au pairs.
Not just a Labour Party problem..
The Tories are and always been for immigration of cheap labour as a large jobless total means higher profits for companies as they can pay far less wages and have the fear of unemployment to keep employees in check.
Currently the Tories are being tough on immigration, well making a lot of noise about ilegal kind anyway while allowing the country still to be flooded by poles etc..who then proceed to take the few jobs remaining leaving the unemployed left to be used as a target for idiots to blame for all their own woes such as why am I paid poorly? Cos of all those dole scroungers! While the political parties backers laugh all the way to the bank.

Robches
To be precise, exploitative British employers who provide a nominal minimum wage which is in fact below that wage when taking into account the costs of "accommodation" whilst at the same time only offering a limited number of hours to avoid paying national insurance, keeps "British workers on the dole".
The answer to this is an end to exploitative limited hours contracts which do not reflect the hours worked and a living as opposed to minimum wage.
Given the Tory party has vehemently opposed any attempt by the working class to improve their minimum wage, it is highly unlikely that the Tory-led government will provide any answers.

Cameron and IDS get spanking
Well on the subject of benefit tourism it was hilarious to see the EU representatives give Cameron a right spanking.

Remind me which party was in power when they allowed unrestricted immigration from Eastern Europe?

Re: Robches
It was labour as we all know and was one of the worst decisions ever made, but as I said all the parties have no interest in genuinely addressing the immigration problem.
Take our pandering to china today where we will now welcome everyone with open arms due to reducing visa requirements.

Re: Robches
And remind me Robches, has the coalition government allowed unlimited, unrestricted immigration from Eastern Europe?
