Porn on the brain...

Post by max_tranmere »

Did anyone see the documentary called 'Porn on the brain' on Channel 4 on Monday night? All about porn addiction and how some people seem to be as hooked on it as others are on drugs and alcohol. They even did brain scans on people in a hospital and established that the happy censors in the brain react the same when a mega porn user watches porn as the censors in the brain do when people with addiction to substances or booze use them.

It makes you think, people should never have unlimited porn use and should always know when to stop - rather like people do with drinking. Everyone should 'have their limit'. Rather like how you know not to down more than 6 beers on a Friday down at the local, you should perhaps keep your porn viewing to an hour a day. People can have come-downs afterwards if they use it too much. What do people think about this, and what did you think of the programme if you watched it?

Didn`t see the prog Max, but it sounds jolly interesting. This is an area
where more research needs to be done and porn addicts (junkies) most
definitely exist ! Hang on, I suppose I am one......

The funny thing about this is, lest we forget, is how bizarre that sounds. Of course peoples happy sensors are going to be triggered by what sexually turns them on

The porn addiction is no different to alcohol or chocolate so what a load of big fat hairy bollocks...I'm glad they did the research to state the bleedin' obvious

As for that lad in the car seeing a girl in a skirt and pulling over to pull himself off blaming it on his porn addiction, well, one can only think that without porn he could also be a rapist before long

Dd anyone stop to think that porn might be the only thing available that calms the fires that rages in his pants?

I dont think the porn is the problem with him either, he clearly has a personality disorder and the fact that porn is being used as an excuse is ridiculous.

The truth of all this depends on your point of view. Thats how I choose to see it and the programme is how the makers chose to see it.

Their proof can be easily reversed or squashed

Yes because they could wank themselves to death. Very embarrassing to put on the death certificate.

"People can have come-downs."

Shouldn't that be "People can have cum-downs."

The harder you cum. The more you enjoy it.

I think someone is an porn addict if they would start to feel really low if they went a day without their porn fix. Those who can take it or leave it are just users of it and are not hooked as such. I suppose there is the potential to get hooked on it though so we should not over do it.

That guy in the car said he was hooked on porn and jerked off about 14 or 16 times a day (that's some going!) and you're right he had to stop and have a hand-shandy when he spotted the girl in hotpants. If there was no porn around he would just have to rely on seeing real people, like he did that day, and getting his jollies like that. I suspect his porn addiction was in part due to a very high libido, one serves the other and increases the thing, so he ends up more into porn and more randy as time goes on. He should seriously think
about doing something to lower his libido, if you can get stimulants to make you more randy you must be able to get things that take you the other way.

One thing the programme pointed out was how available porn is to everyone, we were aware of that, but it seemed to imply youngsters wouldn't be able to get their hands on it if not for modern technology. If this was the 80's and 90's all over again everyone would be watching videos, not as instantly available but available if you're determined - therefore youngsters watch porn whether the internet is around or not. The modern method does make it quicker though and it is of course free online. Every generation gets its hands on porn if it wants to, so this programme implying the youth of today are the first generation to being maxed-out on smut is incorrect.

Q: Did you hear about the man who died from taking an overdose of Viagra?

A: It was a week before they could nail the lid down on the coffin.
