The government and police should be doing more to hunt down paedophiles not
Letz Go Hunting. I'm all for a witch hunt against child sexual abusers. Bring it to court and let the magistrate or the jury decide.

As for historical sexual abuse don't say ah diddums. He's old now he should get away with it because it happened 40 years ago and he's a celebrity. Lots of people on this forum seem to be in favour of historical sexual abuse against children under 18.

I will NEVER be in favour of historical sexual abuse regardless of whether the abuser is a a celebrity, a scoutmaster. worked in a children's home, catholic priest or as the vast majority of cases ordinary citizens (but perverted ones).

I dont think I've read anyone here saying theyre in favour of historical abuse at all. I just dont understand why accusers leave it so long until their abusers are in their twilight years so that they continue the abuse like Jimmy Savile has done.

I'm not quick to agree that anyone arrested for it so many years later is guilty depending on what the evidence against them is.

There are some very wicked opportunistts out there and to be accused of sexually abusing children is one of the worst things to blight anyones otherwise glittering career. I'm thinking Michael Jackson here. Celebs all go a bit doolally after. Notice no one has suggested a connection between the trial with Jordy Chandler as a reason for his heavy reliance on the drugs that killed him before his last tour

If they are guilty they deserve to go straight to hell for it and do a long sentence and I hope they get their comeuppance inside by other convicts who dont approve of such things

I'm not too keen on the vigilante groups either because all too often it gets out of hand

I hear they do most of their hunts by entrapping people. I'm not too keen on that. For example if a girl who looks border line young engages in conversation with the person they are watching says a comment in flirty response then thats enough to pique their interest and persue it relentlessly despite the guy not being aware of the girls real age.

Most men turn dumb when confronted by the attentions of a pretty girl but can you imagine finding out you've been set up with a girl that was underage through a conversation then busted on the way to meeting her the first time?

No you don't because The Sun never led a witch hunt against paedophiles and nor did it mix up paediatricians with paedophiles.

In the chat rooms on the internet that under 18's use the paedophile will often find out the girl's age to target her for possible abuse.

Some of the alleged victims did contact the police, authorities etc but they weren't believed. Even i didn't believe the stories of abuse by Savile when they first come to light. There is an small element of some victims speaking out to claim compensation when they wouldn't have done so otherwise.

I've never been sexually abused but if i had i wouldn't be too keen on talking about it to anyone as a child or as an adult.
