Cameron's Blair impersonation fails
At the beginning of the week, William Hague who is even more of a warmonger than Blair which is really saying something, was talking about no need to get a Security Council resolution, no need to wait until the weapons inspectors had finished their work etc. etc. before lobbing cruise missiles into Damascus.
It reminded me of the same rush, rush, rush that Blair used in 2003. And then the so-called weak Labour leader, Ed Miliband, said No, we are not going along with this bullshit and we have to wait until the weapons inspectors have done their work and various military objectives have been outlined and discussed etc etc.
So Cameron changes his approach completely and as a result instead of having one vote tonight so that they could get bombing later in the week, he caved in and came up with a vote tonight and one next week.
Credibility blown, Cameron lost even this watered down motion.
So at long last we have stopped being the US poodle and the MPs appear to have taken on board that the electorate are not convinced that lobbing a few missiles into Damascus is going to stop in itself, the killing. It's not just a reflection on Iraq but also on Libya where we launched cruise missiles to defend the people of Benghazi whereas now the country has been taken over by militias vying for influence and filling the vacuum by killing and acting like Mafiosi.
Let's hope the UK now redoubles the efforts to get a ceasefire in Syria.

"William Hague is even more of a warmonger than Blair". Don't be silly. Blair made Hitler look like a pacifist. 45 months was more accurate the 45 minutes. Blair and Campbell should still stand trial for mass murder.
More importantly DC is dead man walking, as is Millibland. Come on down Boris and Yvette.
And even more importantly some perfectly innocent Syrian, who has done nothing to harm any British citizen, is not about to get a Tomahawk down his chimney......unless Obi Wan Chocice can get the CIA to draft some top class fiction and go it alone. As Roger Water's superbly sang on Amused to Death "The safety of being out of range....." If the US was much closer to Europe they might not be so keen to bomb the shit out of all and sundry.

""William Hague is even more of a warmonger than Blair".
This is correct. Hague was very keen on the government invading Iraq well before any dodgy dossier etc. He didn't even think cooked-up evidence was required before we got involved.
And once again we have seen Hague in his true colours at the beginning of the week where he was stating there was no need to wait for the weapons inspectors or support from the Security Council.

Got to agree that Hague is desperate to get a war on his cv. Obnoxious bald headed bastard. Then he will cry his crocodile tears over the coffins of British servicemen/women.

No and no.
As for Boris and Yvette Cooper......
No and no.
With regard to Boris, isn't Ken Dodd available?
Still dead keen on Nigel Farage, Argie?
No and no.

Porn Baron
And now he has been deprived of a war, it is obviously all Labour's fault just as everything else that goes wrong with the Tories is all down to the evil Labour party.
Glosses over the fact that far, far less Tories voted against Blair and his dodgy dossier than Labour MPs did both as a percentage of MPs and actual numbers.
And I hadn't noticed that Cameron's Libyan intervention has been a huge success either. More like a shambles.

"Don't mention the war!" Or more correctly " don't mention THAT war"
