I remember The Sun doing a similar thing to Peter Kay when he did a joke about Jill Dando.

Jim's OK. When he came to Belize he was a hoot. Wouldn't use the Officers Mess, came to us in the Sgts Mess. Boy can he drink. He was the 1st entertainer to travel to the Falklands and he was the 1st to visit Afghan, where that unfunny yellow bellied bastard Gervais won't go because it's dangerous.
Different comics are funny to some and not others. I spent a carreer in the Army and I can swear for Britain, but, Chubby Allen makes me shudder. Jethro is funny, but again not to everyone. Jimmy Jones to me is hilarious and again not to every ones taste.
