I notice the BBC pulled the scheduled broadcast about Stephen Gough, the naked rambler, last night for legal reasons (ie contempt) after he was re-arrested.

We have need of you again, great king.
part from you trying (and failing) to be a smartarse ? leave it to the professionals like Johnson ? did you never wonder why the media never report on cases after someone has been charged apart from their appearances at court hearings?
Forget about who's right and wrong for a minute - I'm more interested in the 'smartarse' accusation. What makes a 'smartarse'? I mean, wasn't it you that first tried to chirp in with your knowledge regarding what can and cannot be said about ongoing court cases? You obviously convey your facts in a none-smartarse way, which others are incapable of doing. I've been accused of being a 'smartarse' in the past (or at least trying - unbeknowingly) and so it's something I'd like to eradicate from my advice-giving and fact-stating as I want my character to be perceived to be as affable as yours. How would I go about this?

Cheers.

Very kind of you to say so.

which others are incapable of doing.

No, I never said that. I said David Johnson was incapable of that.

You present your arguments very well. No smart arse you or even a clever Dick. Mr Johnson on the other hand veers off into flights of what he calls satire and what I see as smartarsery. He also presents in a sanctimonious way ? like many left-wingers he sees himself as having the moral high ground. In other words, there is no other argument than his because not only is he right but, he believes, he has right on his side. It has been said that if you are not a socialist at 20, you have no heart, if you are still a socialist at 30(40/50, perm any one from whatever you choose), you have no head. As Harold Wilson would have said of DJ if he had ever heard of him, "He immatures with age."

PS And yes I do realise you are being a tiny bit sarky.

Apart from the fact that Rumpole was a defence barrister...

Lily Allen has nothing to do with the case yet...

The trial will now not start until 28 October after Mr Justice Saunders adjourned the case for legal reasons at a hearing in the Old Bailey. Those reasons cannot be reported.

So, Mr Johnson, and a serious answer please not the usual emoticons that seem to be your default reply ? if I was to reveal the reason for the delay*, I would be guilty of contempt of court but would I be prosecuted?

* I'm not going to by the way.

I have explained why your assertion re. Spider etc. is incorrect. I have given you chapter and verse re. the limitations.

I have absolutely no intention whatsoever of responding to an endless list of situations in which you pose "Would I be prosecuted?"

Get legal advice.

Knacker of the Yard to Spider

"Come along quietly sir to answer a few questions."

Mind you I was innocently passing a couple of coppers singing the lyrics to Pink's "God is a DJ" when I got arrested.

It's not right!!!!!!
