A typical Cameron wheeze - completely ineffectual, but it satisfies sections of public opinion to have vans driving around telling illegal immigrants to get lost back home.

I guess if you are an illegal immigrant your English will be really excellent so that you can read these messages on moving vans. Secondly, the message telling people you could get arrested if you are caught as an illegal immigrant. Well fancy that!

As an alternative Cameron could try restoring the personnel cuts in the Border Agency and he could even act on the major criticisms made by the Inspector of the Border Agency recently e.g.

"In unredacted sections of the report, Vine warns that thousands of illegal immigrants attempting to sneak into the UK through France have not been fingerprinted by border officials for nearly four years.

The report also says that government agency Border Force has been fining those guilty of bringing in illegal immigrants at below maximum levels.

In a redacted section, Vine says that border staff remain concerned over the effect of the so-called Lille loophole, which effectively exempts some passengers who travel to Britain via Lille, in France, on Eurostar trains boarded in Brussels, Belgium, from UK Border Force immigration checks.

But hey a van saying Fuck off illegal immigrant is so much easier for those among the British public who like to keep things basic.

Also to add to Mr johnsons post it means the Tories can play it both ways with the sun reading plebs thinking Cameron is doing something about immigration but in reality doing nothing so still allowing a never ending stream of cheap labour from Europe driving down wages, increased job instability as employers have yhe run of the labour market (which Tory donors like) and increasing housing costs due to the demand of extra bodies.

It's frightening what politics has become in ths country.
