Frank,

It was an abysmal show. Comedy value, zero.

Are you kidding? The tiresome about comedy and comedy programming today.

The majority of TV sitcoms these days are extremely poor while there are some truly inspired that will be remembered such as the gervais stable of shows most are bland.

Also another problem is the fact that comedy is now sen as the preserve of the smug middle class, the jimmy carrs of the world.

The great thing about the croft/perry stable of shows was the relationships between the characters as illustrated by the always emotional last episodes.

This could well be said for 'The Office'. Odd you slate Gervais in the same post...

Correction to my post

Eek just checked my post and I meant to say "The majority of TV sitcoms these days are extremely poor while there are some truly inspired that will be remembered such as the gervais stable of shows WHILE most are bland"

So I was meant to be in total agreement with you Mr pornoshop just the scourge of a single missing word!

No program will ever reach the level of the older programming due to the sheer amount of TV channels available so there is no longer half the nation watching a TV program unless some royals popped their clogs or Dave Cameron is kicked to death on TV.

The means that the national psyche will not be touched in the same way so gervais won't be mentioned in the same breath as wise etc.. But towers above his peers.
