A little graph.

Post by Sam Slater »

Fed up of hearing shit from some on here who are obviously only get their new from tabloids and dodgy geezers down the pub. Thought I'd post a little graph to simplify where our taxes go when it comes to welfare.

Well of benefit cuts to make sorting out pensions would be the most sensible.

By making it means tested and its other associated freebies TV licence, winter fuel etc you'd save a massive amount.

Anyone else see the John snow documenrty about pensions the amount going out to those who didn't need it was shocking.

Winter fuel is shown on graph at 2%. Not a lot to be saved.

How can it be fair that some bunch of old farts get all that money and most of the scrounging bastards don't even work for a living?

How can it be fair that millionaire old age pensioners get free bus passes? I was on the 73 in London the other day and I saw Joan Collins on the bus. And then I saw Roger Moore and Michael Caine on the 42. It ain't right you know.

How can it be fair that old age pensioners in Majorka get a winter fuel allowance? I know loads of oaps that spend it on booze and fags and Sky subscriptions soon as it turns up in their bank account.

How can it be fair that old age pensioners get free access to the NHS even though many of them don't work whereas 18 year olds shelling out their taxes and never using the NHS from one year to the next have to pay tax towards the NHS?

How can it be fair that old age pensioners who live forever get a fantastically, generous pension which a lot of them just piss away down the pub, whilst I'm slogging my guts out for bugger all?

There you go lads, the first instalment of Mindless Cliches about UK Old Age Pensioners.

What you need to consider I suspect is why save?

Why save at all if

1. You are not going to get pension credit.
2. You are not going to get help with council tax.
3. You are not going to get a pension.
4. You are not going to get a winter fuel payment.
5. You are not going to get a bus pass.

Best to decide never to save anything or follow the lead of corporates and hide it offshore and that way the state bill would probably go up rather than down which is your intention presumably.

In all honesty it's difficult to see where the government can make meaningful savings. There may be a few scroungers that you can save on. But the graph shows that it's just pissing in the wind.

Osbourne really needs to get his finger out and get the economy moving forward.
Get people working and paying taxes. That is the only answer.

Point taken i think it's just that watching aload of pensioners he interviewed at the local golf club on the documentary talking about how well off they were and didn't need the money rather sickening considering the amount of pensioners in poverty.

Being true to form they felt offended when he asked them if they had considered not taking the money.
